I know they have them. I found some on the cowlitz that some one lost.

They are maybe 1" or 2" long and skinny. they go on yer line above the hook like a corkie and glow like the big glow sticks. they look like they are made in different colors also. I want some and I don't know where to find them. has anyone seen these? where can I find them? I think they would be killer on steelhead at nite or dark days. e-mail me if you don't want to post it. dcrzfitter@aol.com

thanx a bunch

While some sports shops will carry them in sizes about an inch, you should readily be able to find the green version, 1.62" in length at most larger golf shops for use in Nite-Lite golf balls

Hey guys, I tried those green glo-sticks out already for steelhead, and I think they may be too bright (as in scaring the fish bright!) I tried them last winter on the Cowlitz while my buddy was glo-balling. I used a piece of surgical tubing to hold them on the line above a small corky, and man, you can really see where your casts are going! Looks kinda like fireworks, and you can follow your lure's drift by the green glow underwater (I could see mine in 5-6' of water) the ones I used were about 1/8" in diameter and about an inch or so long. At the time, it seemed like a good idea....

Back in the eighties there was a plug, I can't remember the name, but it used those tiny glow sticks in the eyes. I only used it once on the McKenzie but out of a dozen of us in one hole I was the only person to hook a springer that morning (legal anyway.

These glow sticks actually work well for steelhead driftfishing but the whole stick at once is definatly too much. I also use surgical tubing but I use the large black stuff and stretch it down over the glow stick until there is about a 1/4 inch sticking out. They really worked well in the columbia for the upriver brights in the 30-40 feet of water. I tied spinners with them as the body of the spinner. One trip I had out there I had a 4ft dropper then a alvin with a 5ft leader and above that about 3ft I had one of these homemade glow spinners on about a 2ft leader. I hooked three chinook on the spinner to one on the alvin that day.
They also make these sticks in red and blue, the red and green you can get at fishermans marine supply in portland but the blue ones I found in a bass magazine about two years ago and couldn't find anymore. The fish didn't really care for the blue though. The ones they really like are the red ones. Sort of like the vortex's!!!!!!!!!!!!!
