Ever occur to you nobody's been there yet? You only posted yesterday, in the middle of the week at that. It's still pretty early for even hatchery fish to be showing.

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

STRIKE,
That's true, but in past years, there was WATER in the Salmon. I'd guess right about now, the water's a mere trickle. Doesn't exactly encourage fish to start moving to the hatchery in any great numbers. After the next rain would probably be a decent bet (bring your own rock), but I wouldn't bother with the Salmon until we get some precip.
Fish on.......

StrikeZone, I tried to e-mail you some info but it would not go thru. The Salmon is low! The first wave of steelhead have entered the Quinault and are holding below Cook Creek. (That was a subtle hint)

There's only two kinds of people in life. Those that make fish reports and those that wait for fish reports!

What about those that catch and don't say squat? Oops, I forgot fishers are braggarts by nature...
By the way, does anyone know what the confluence between the Salmon and Queets looks like right now? Has it changed from last winter? I know; I could probably park at the bridge, walk out there, and check myself...But, I was just wondering??????

Lots of sweepers almost impossible to fish from the bank. Will be impossible once the level rises.

Hohwaiian, it's about a half-mile farther downstream from where it was three years ago. Haven't fished it since then, and walked in this year--imagine my surprise to find the main Queets riverbed had shifted a long way, leaving the great old confluence hole almost high and dry. Instead, the Salmon now flows in under a steep bank with lots of wood and sweepers, going about 100 mph.

Fished the confluence in late Oct for silvers and kings. Saw a chrome ad-clipped s'head landed and a bright chum!?!? What's with that? Anybody else see chums in there?
