Ive been looking for a particular K-fish, Its silver with a chartuse tail w/ black scales(markings). I cant find it anywhere and Lure Jenson said it was probably someones custom order. This plug is a fish catch'in SOB. Does anybody out there custom paint there own? Is there a good paint that will survive in the water? Thanks in advance.

You may want to try BC Outpost in Oregon City. They do all kinds of custom painting of spinner blades so I bet they would do your Kwikfish too. Let me know if they did it for you.

my favorite plug is one I painted with fingernail polish because I couldn't find the right color at the store. It out fishes the others two fold is scratched up pretty good but think that adds to the charactor of the plug.

Skeins, I think I saw that same color that you're talking about in a recent STS inset photo. I think that color would be productive. I have close to, if not more than 200 Kwikfish and I've never seen that color in the store. Doesn't mean it doesn't exist somewhere. I buy ever color available because I like to collect plugs; with some people it's stamps, baseball cards, but I collect plugs. Fun, although expensive as hell, but you can use them too. I find that I only reguarly use about a half dozen colors of each type of plug. I think the pretty colors are designed to catch fisherman and not necessarily fish*jk*.
If you want to try painting them yourself, then I suggest a paint called "Spike It - Dip 'n' Glo" which is awesome and available at Ted's Sport Center in Lynnwood. I will also suggest the use of an airbrush. Fun and relatively easy to use. I discovered a way to make the scale patterns that works killer:
I found a plastic/rubber dishmat with holes in it (the holes measure roughly 1/8" dia.) and I cut pieces off of the dishmat and then I lay it on top of the plug, shoot it with the airbrush and viola! Instant scales. Be sure to paint the base color of choice on first. Sorry for the rough explanation, if you need additional info. just holler.

Hey, Os, you reminded me of a nail polish story I thought I should bring up.
I had just turned 21 and met a super-fine honey from the newly opened Lynnwood Hooters. She agreed to go out with me (amazing, huh) and we soon hit it off. I was living alone in a one-bedroom apartment at the time and it wasn't long at all before she was coming over to "keep me company". Well, she ended up being the nosy type and found my stash of hot pink and purple fingernal polish which consisted of close to a dozen or so bottles of various shades.
"Who does this belong to?" she asked as she held up the bottle of Revlon Raspberry Rush pink.
"Oh," laughing, "I use that stuff to paint my fishing lures" I stated.
"Yeah, right!" She barked back. "You're either some kinda freak or you have some chickie on the side that your not telling me about!"
"No, really" I exclaimed. "I use it to paint my Lil Corkies...."
"What the hell are little Corkies?" she inquired.
"They're little balls, uh, for fishing and I also paint my Tadpollys" I answered.
"You can paint your little balls pink all you want, you #$&*@!% freak! I'm leaving!!" was her paranoid response.
Never did hear from her again. Oh, well. You win some and you lose some.
Most women I've met are from the other extreme, however. My present girlfriend of almost five years gets into my Dip 'n' Glo and Fishermun's Lure Coat and swears that it's the best looking and longest lasting nail polish she's ever used. At least she doesn't use the blue and green.
