We may have gotten Trump out of the White House, but the Republican party will pick up right where he left off for some time.

I'm pretty sure that everyone who could ever be convinced to do so voted this year. At face value, that's a good thing for our democracy. What might not be as good is that over 70M people voted for Trump. That's significantly more than any candidate not named Joe Biden has ever gotten. Republicans will have taken notice, and their interpretation will be that if they want to bring out their voting base, they had better adopt the style and policies that made Trump so beloved by the rich, selfish, and sadly misinformed. If not Trump himself, they will run out one of his lap dogs in 2024. Moscow Mitch will block ANY attempt the Democrats make to get anything done during the next 4 years, and that will give the Republicans ammo to say Biden accomplished nothing, so we better get back to the loudmouth a$$hole brand of president.

I don't see any reason to believe we'll be any less divided 4 years from now. At least we won't have to watch Trump make us look bad, daily, in front of the whole world in the meantime....
