When using round cork floats, you can use the little mini glow sticks you can get at commercial fishing stores (SeaMar). Drill an extra hole in the cork float, just a shallow hole the depth of the length of the light stick, and slightly smaller than the light stick in diameter, so it jams in there. Position it just to the side of the regular stopper hole... allows you to fish a little earlier (o-dark 50) than you normally would, and still see the bobber go down.
I haven't tried it in super clear water, but depending upon how deep you drill the hole, not much of the stick is visible to the fish in the water.
