Actually if a person is married to a military retiree over 10 years of their military service, they are entitled to 50% of the retirement pay, even if that person re-marrys. There is also an option for "Survival Benefits" which entitles the spouse to continue collecting military pension should the retiree die.

So I guess the estate laws do recognize the spouse in military service. \:D

Pretty hard to imagine a military spouse being a big advocate of war when it's their loved one that is sacrificed. Therefore a military spouse could hardly be called a chickenhawk.
