Suicide rates in red states took up 9 of the top 10 spots in per capita suicides in 2004. Leading the way, Alaska, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Wyoming, Colorado, Idaho, and West Virginia.

Lowest rates of suicide per capita? D.C, New York, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Rhode Island.
