If/when you are of the mindset to get off the road,then superior footwear does come into play. Pounding flatland tundra isn't very demanding on footwear either,if only for more of the obvious reasons.

Such footwear will cost much in the way of available opportunity.


LOL. It sort of has to be your primary ploy in the GMUnits I live in. I mean why would you walk through the brush when you can get to the same location on a road? 95% of the huntable area that I hunt in is interspersed with roads. If I wore those boots with the big spikes I would have to walk in the ditch.

So yeah, I get off the road every time I hunt but I spend a lot of time walking down roads to get to my jump off point. The Xtras are pretty quiet on gravel. In this country I have never been limited by my footwear. Not yet anyway.
