I was raised on Rainier but hate it now. Then I tried the old Schlitz and then Henry's during my time at Wazzu. Thursday night buck pitcher night at Rathskellars in Moscow.
Then I tried the Kemper beers. Dad got grain from them then we would go Pike Place at their old location on Western, they would give us beer for picking up grain. Love their amber ale. Now the grain comes from Silver City and they produce lots of grain recently. Like the Ridgetop Red. I'm not a big fan of the IPAs as they are a little strong and hoppy. Guiness and most of the porters are good in my opinion. Not much of a Belgian beer fan even though dad is Belgian. I like Mexican beers like Pacifico or Dos Equis.
Fishing beer is Bud Light but used to be the cheap Natural Light or Milwaukee's Best. Dad in Law used to drink Miller High Life but switched to BL. Game warden called him Mr. Miller and wrote him a bogus littering ticket but a few years ago he told him he was one of the best if not the best fisherman on the river. Always have BL on ice in the back of our trucks when fishing for summeruns. Also hide a cooler in the brush and shade nearby where I fish and restock. Good place to keep bait, something to eat, and even keep a fish cool. Dennis saw me coming out of the brush with a cold one and was amazed but he doesn't drink at least on the river. Last summer Chet turned me on to the BL Chelada.
I like the Elyssian Men's Room, Mac and Jack, and Manny's. Sound Brewing makes a great O'Reagan's Red and the Belgian Dubble is tasty but too filling.
