Unlike the call that went in favor of the Cowboys last week...defensive holding and pass interference, both on the same guy in the sam play...that didn't end up getting called or enforced, today's controversial call was 100% spot on with the rules.

Several years ago, in an effort to make a black line rule with no wiggle room for bad judgment, when a receiver catches a ball and goes to the ground he has to maintain control of the ball throughout the entire catch/fall process.

Dez did his best...but the ball hit the ground, bounced out of his hands, and that was that.

That is the rule, and they got it 100% correct.

Would have been better, of course, if the ref right there on the play had called it incomplete rather than having it sent to the booth for review, but that's what booth review is for, and the booth made the correct call.
