Old CNN website was source of unvetted 'random' info used by author of anti-Trump dossier, docs reveal

“It was an article I have got here which was posted on July 28, 2009, on something called CNN iReport,” Steele said.

But CNN iReport, which appears to be no longer active -- though archives remain accessible online -- states that it’s a “user-generated site” and warns that “the stories submitted by users are not edited, fact-checked or screened before they post.”

Some news sources speculate that the Mueller investigation could be winding down now that Andrew Weissmann and Zainab Ahmad senior members of the Mueller’s special council have stepped down.

Chances are that Barr fired both Ahmad and Weissmann with Weissmann not only off the team of the Special council but out of the DOJ all together after taking a leave of absence from his job leading the DOJ's criminal fraud unit to be on the Mueller team.

“The request, from members of the House Oversight and Government Reform committee, asked for information on whether Andrew Weissmann and Zainab Ahmad disclosed that they had received information from Department of Justice (DOJ) official Bruce Ohr regarding the Russia investigation. Reps. Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Mark Meadows (R-NC) sent the letter to Barr on March 1, giving him until March 15 to respond...”

Attorney general delivers summary of special counsel’s report.

Newly appointed AG Bill Barr sent a letter to Congress outlining “principal conclusions” of the two-year Robert Mueller investigation.

In the report, the Special Counsel noted that, in completing his investigation, he employed 19 lawyers who were assisted by a team of approximately 40 FBI agents, intelligence analysts, forensic accountants, and other professional staff. The Special Counsel issued more than 2,800 subpoenas, executed nearly 500 search warrants, obtained more than 230 orders for communication records, issued almost 50 orders authorizing use of pen registers, made 13 requests to foreign governments for evidence, and interviewed approximately 500 witnesses.

No Trump/Russian collusion.
