I'm a fan of these Pastrami sandwiches at La Salas market in Monterey,but the Italian sausage meatball combo at Compagnos Hilltop Market are the best in town,and you can feed 2 people on a whole. There are a lot of wops here,due to the italian fishing community of guys who's grandfathers fathers were there when the Monterey sardines "disappeared". Theres a neighborhood up Franklin st we call spaghetti hill. Doesn't smell like pasta sauce as much as it did when we were kids. You could smell cooking garlic around 5 pm coming from Guisseppe Pellegrinos place across from this girl house who I used to go with when we were teenagers. Ahh,memories.

We have great food here on the Peninsula. I am sure Seattle has some amazing places. Last weekend I was in NorCal fishing and ate at this place in Eureka called Brick and Fire. It was in diners drive ins and dives and even though I think Guy Fieri is the king of douchebags (who would purposely look like that guy,he looks like an ass),this place looked amazing and it was everything it was cracked up to be. They do these wood fired Oysters OMG . I'll post it all up on the food thread.
