I just checked the weather. Its nice out! Nytimes is covering global news. Mostly Hong Kong. Dont see the Trump name at all. Fox News has all stories about “liberal anger”. Typical July weather.

Nothing on the yield curve, then?
Not from the ballwashers - no. From me - yeah. Opinion: that is not good. Saw an article today that 1/3rd of households are cutting back on spending. That's also not good. Lots of CEO's talking about slowing down the pace of hiring too. Lots of "alternative" plans are being made right now to "weather the storm" so-to-speak and I'll leave it at that. The market is BS and not a real indicator. 90%+ is on volume trading autopilot making very few boatloads of money. MFG and durable goods indices are down. Add in a trade war and look out! Just in time for 2020. What a chit show the next couple of years is going to be.

Kitchen remodel futures are up. Hank’s frequent trips to Homo Depot are driving the economy.

Hey Nick, did you channel Rich G and become a predictor of the world ending? Lighten up dude. "1/3 of households are spending less?" Does that mean the other 2/3 are spending more? Spending less? My clients are pulling money out of their investments at an all-time high rate and for what? Fun baby. Got to go to Egypt and ride camels or to Ireland to drink Guinness for the weekend. They look for ways to spend their money.
When kids in my community turn 16 they don't take the bus to school, because mommy and daddy buy them new Infiniti's or Mercedes. There might be an adjustment with the economy, but it will rally again, like it always does.
It might be good for all of us to be inconvenienced financially for a while to know the true value of hard work, earning something and paying for it yourself.

It might be good for all of us to be inconvenienced financially for a while to know the true value of hard work, earning something and paying for it yourself. No not at all. I'm good. Just pointing out that some key indicators for potentially rough waters are starting to pop up here and there. It doesn't mean anything good or bad - will or will not happen. I make no predictions and I'm not really worried at all - mostly because I have little money to lose! I totally agree with you regarding your last sentence. Peace,

Fox News apparently has no talking points on the inverted yield curve, so therefore Hank can't give "his" opinion on it.
It's a bad sign, even if some folks want to pretend it isn't. Not a sure sign of an upcoming recession, but it's a pretty strong indicator.
This should add some more drama to the upcoming election. I don't think Hank understands economics. The inverted yield curve shows that longer term bonds are yielding less than short term bonds. It's been this way 3 months in a row. Heading to a recession in another year.

My clients are pulling money out of their investments at an all-time high rate and for what? Fun baby. Got to go to Egypt and ride camels or to Ireland to drink Guinness for the weekend. They look for ways to spend their money. Do your clients represent average Americans? I doubt it if they are looking for ways to blow money and traveling to Egypt. When kids in my community turn 16 they don't take the bus to school, because mommy and daddy buy them new Infiniti's or Mercedes. There might be an adjustment with the economy, but it will rally again, like it always does. It sounds like you live in a wealthy community that does not represent the average for America. It doesn’t “always” rally, it can go very bad. Just because it hasn't for a long time doesn't mean it wont. It might be good for all of us to be inconvenienced financially for a while to know the true value of hard work, earning something and paying for it yourself. Absolutely. So will you thank Trump for teaching us a hard lesson if his tariffs kill the golden goose?

Did Paul Krugman tell you that? When he said the markets would never recover when they took a dive after Donny Two Scoops was elected you were in total agreement. Two things I know about recessions are: 1. When they happen when a Republican is in the White House it's the Republicans' fault. 2. When they happen when a Demotard is in the White House it's the Republicans' fault. Pay your bet, you fuckin' thief.

2. When they happen when a Demotard is in the White House it's the Republicans' fault.
Recessions are the inevitable outfall from years of using BS justifications and speculation to artificially stimulate the economy. The recession comes when we can no longer hide the reality of what has actually been happening over the prior 7-10 years (on average). This is shaping up just like 2008. The Fed just lowered interest rates in the usual, telltale attempt to prop up home sales before the bubble pops. Meanwhile, the only ones taking advantage are wealthy people investing in rental properties so they can screw over the people who can't afford a mortgage (or are too smart to enter into one with homes at peak value) with inflated rental rates. This, too, shall pass, and yet another recession will follow. Same $hit....
