Norm MacDonald is the greatest comedian that ever lived. There I said it. Taking nothing away from Carlin,Pryor and Murphy. I wouldn't go that far, but he's top 6 in my book. Comparing old school (Bruce, Pryor, Rickles, Dangerfield, Rivers, Carlin et al.) to mid school (later Carlin, Murphy, Martin, Kinnison, Hicks, Wright, early Norm, Seinfeld et al.) to new school (Chappelle, Later Norm, Burr, O'Neil et al)…..right now.....for my money, the best I've ever seen is modern Chappelle. What he's doing on stage is nearly impossible, simple incredible and I firmly believe he's the ONLY person alive that can pull it off and get away with it in these modern PC / SJW / Me Too / Cancel Culture Times. He's a mix of the social conscientious mix of Carlin with the hilarity of Norm and the biting humor of Burr. He threads the needle like no other and people simply adore him for it. His last couple of specials are just ridiculously good. Nobody can touch Dave. He cannot be cancelled. Chit....Kevin Hart got straight up cancelled and he's easily the highest earning Comedian going.

17" Crappie you say? That's a BIG Crappie for cold western WA. At that length, they should be right around 3 pounds for Whites and 3.5 pounds for Blacks - which would be a new state record for a White (2.8 lbs.), but not for a Black (4.5 lbs).
If I had private access to big Crappie like that, I'd be filling a bucket or two. Their one of my favorite fish to fry up!

Believe it or not, I actually don't doubt Bingo about those fish. A blurry pic or two would be nice confirmation. Big Craps on light gear will certainly give the wings a fun work out.
Now if he told me the fish's speedo went to 240 mph, then I might starting questioning some things. They're Crappie, not Sailfish!

It's just catch and release there, although they have kept a few i guess.. Small lake, 14 or so acres, 20 feet deep max probably in the middle... The neighbor just paid 1900 for 800 trout that got dumped in 2 days ago, hooked one of the big ones yesterday and my rod tip snapped, good thing i don't spend tons of money on trout rods or i would have been pissed..
They are blacks, they got one to the boat that was 15 inches on Thursday.. We mainly were going for bass at first, but i was using paddle trails and they use senkos and i didn't have any offset hooks so i gotta go buy some of them today, they have some laregemouth in there that are 8-10 pounds.. Mainly 3-5ish tho...

I caught a big crappie in a private pond when I was in high school, bass fishing with a 8" worm...black crappie, it was 19" on the shittty painted on ruler on the apron of my old school Bass Pro Shops float tube.
Unfortunately it was before the advent of Facebook or digital camera phones, so it didn't actually exist.
Definitely was a state record crappie, FWIW...it was all of 5 pounds, and was bigger than any bass I ever caught out of that pond over the years by two pounds.

i dont doubt your fish, people dont realize that the records can be shattered rather easily, IF you can get them to bite, big fish are generally smart fish, and are tough to catch...
i used to have a sh!t ton of fun catching dogfish when i was a kid, landed a few that were 4.5 -5 feet long...

I dig fishing for crappies. I fish some private golf course ponds for bass near here and my friend Brian landed a bonafide 6 pound bass. We have hooked a few toads here and not landed them so we believe there is,or will be ,a 10 pounder in here at some point. They are suckers for a well presented Berkeley Chigger Craw!
