The WHO & CDC are saying an outbreak in the US is all but a certainty now and hot spots all popping up all over the world. It fits all of the parameters & metrics for "Disease X". Watch out if Mexico gets hit hard - that could be a disaster.

This ain't no Rich G doom and gloom post, but we should probably maybe start to consider some basic individual plans. I would have no problem whatsoever self quarantining at the ol' ponderosa for a month or longer if it came to that. Sorry - can't come into work today, gonna have to telecommute again. What a total Bummer that would be.

Already bought n95 masks last week off amazon. Got a 5 pack of 3M N95 masks for 25$.

Today, The principal at my wife's elementary school where she works attempted to buy some N95 masks, and the only ones available she could find was a 30 pack for $1000.00. That isnt a decimal placement error!

[Bleeeeep!] is getting real. My bet is by this time next thursday, we have multiple outbreaks in greater puget sound area.

better off just buying a canister respirator, 1 they are way more effective than the masks, 2, you can still find them for under 30 dollars, 3 they fit WAY better, 4 you can replace the cans when needed which are readily available...

one thing for certain, is 3M is going to make an assload of cash due to this...
