Just watched Pence and the Texas Governor in Dallas have a press conference, totally stroking each other off about what a great job they have done with the Cornonavirus...while Texas, and the entire US, is experiencing a skyrocket in infections and cases.
The right wing response to this pandemic is the worst "let's make 1984 and Idiocracy real life!" effort yet...and that's saying something when we are talking about the GOP.

For Trump to hang himself would require a large amount of the population to be educated on the issues... and not be victims to the Dunning-Kruger effect. Even when Trump says something stupid, you hear the applause from the sheep. I have little faith in Tdump hanging himself. I think it’s more likely he wins 2020... especially given Biden being the best alternative offered.

BTW - it's too late for any new candidates to declare bids for the Presidency. Filing dates are codified laws maintained at the state level. Some states have them, some states don't. You can't win the electoral college without many of the states that have filing dates already on the books.
There will be no suprise Michelle or Oprah or whatever boogeywoman or man yer' kooky head thought up.

1. We knew that Russia was offering money to Taliban to kill American soldiers.
2. We knew well before this spring, but maybe as long as a year ago.
3. Trump knew. He was briefed in person, and in writing.
4. There are wire transfers from Russia to Taliban, paying for soldiers that they did indeed kill.
...and the right is fuckin silent.
That's all. There is literally nothing else to write about...they all need to be nuked from space, starting with the entire GOP, Trump's family, and anyone who ever complained one time about Benghazi, unless they speak out now...which they won't, because it was never about the troops, anyway.

The usual path for the GOP to navigate Trump doing something astronomically against the interests of the US went from zero to hero in just a couple of days this time.
1. Reports came out that Trump was told, verbally and in writing, that Russia was paying Taliban for dead US soldiers.
2. Trump Admin claimed the story was...shockingly...a hoax.
3. Trump Admin admitted it was true that it was happening, but that no one told Trump.
4. Trump Admin admitted that they told Trump, but he didn't read it.
5. Trump Admin admitted that he did read it, and was told, but didn't believe it.
6. Trump Admin admitted that it is true, but Trump did nothing about it.
7. Trump Admin said it's not a big deal.
8. Trump Admin blamed it on Obama.
Steps 3 thru 8 all came in one press conference this morning with Mike Pompeo.
That pile of steaming schit will just be gobbled down by the ballwashers again...because they don't support the troops, or American, or American interests...they, like the Trump GOP, support Trump. Period.
I am not sure yet how to feel about the Russian payments. On its face, it would almost seem to be an act of war. Yet, nothing seems to have been done about it. I have a hard time believing, as the Left believes, that it was to do with Trumps investments. If so, it would be tantamount to treason. But lets say Trump knew. What would the proper response be, or why may he not have done anything.
These are a few scenarios I can image possible. 1. The United States was doing the same thing in Syria, or somewhere else, and does not want to reveal this. 2. This has been going on for years with both sides doing it, neither sides wants this revealed. . 3. This has been going on for years and was just discovered. Rather than admit our lack of intelligence on the matter, the U. S. tried to cover it up and negotiate an end to it quietly. 4. Trump is not capable to dealing with the Russians, and, much like our own WDFW dealings with the Indians, simply gives in out of fear. 5. Retaliations have already taken place, with notification to the Russians in private as too why they were done. The American people kept out of the loop to prevent cries of War, 6. Trump is completely in the hands of the Russians and is willing to allow them to kill Americans. 7. This is a retaliation for something just as sinister, that the US did. 8. This is retaliation for the Syrian battle that killed Russian operatives. It may be that the those in power are agreeing to allow it to go by as a response. Now that we know, both sides agree to pull back and call it even.
Of all these, the number 6, seems the most unlikely. Number 4 gives the Democrats just as much ammunition, but does not seem to be the choice they are chasing.
What if the truth is much more complicated, and there are reasons the U.S. let it go unanswered, and what if the Russians know all this, and then helped facilitate the release of this information to further destabilize and divide the U.S. What are we going to do. Start world war 3. Put out sanctions. In the end, I have very little faith in what is being disclosed. Lately it seems that everyone, both Democrats and Republicans, have secret motives, none of which are for the benefit of the whole.

Well, our intelligence agencies all say it's true, and that they put it in his daily briefings and briefed him verbally about it, and Mike Pompeo came on today and said it was true, and Bolton said he told Trump...so yeah, I feel pretty good about it being true...especially seeing the information about the actual dollars that were transferred from the GRU into Taliban accounts.
Let's try this... if it were true, what would you think about it?
