A friend of mine had a Chesapeake, wasn't too bad of a dog but didn't do ducks/geese to well. But then again, that was more the owners fault. But the dog wasn't driven like a lab, was more concerned about eating [Bleeeeep!] around the blind than focusing on the next bird..

Heading back out this weekend for some more long range precision and load development on a friends new 28 Nosler. It's the right gun, but the challenges of magnum caliber load development.... Time will tell.

Got the right weather and the wind forecast is nil, so hoping to stretch to 1100 yards with a few of the guns we'll have there ready to roll.

Labs are great water dogs obviously.
Sounds like the owner never lit the fire in that dog.
Bet it was a great tennis ball dog. Lol

Perfect day for shooting or hot rods.

Did the final load testing this weekend on the 6.5-284 at 968 yards downhill at -7.4 degree angle with a left to right wind at about 5mph.
Ballistic app called for 21.2MOA up and 2.0MOA left.. I've concluded, she's ready... Can in pic for reference...
