Our neighbor id a General Contractor and he is scheduled a year out. The building trades, including repairs, are just so slammed. We needed a new well. Old one started failing in April of '19. New one came online 10/20 and there is still final tweaks to be done.

This may be the final push that sends the dagger all the way through DCC's vitals, but I've been slammed since COVID started.

For some reason, people seem to need technology to work from home as well as technology at their place of employment.

It's been non stop since this all began.

It was non stop before COVID, but DCC would never have believed that in the first place......

Just happy to be able to sit my fat ass at home, play with the dog and cats, eat wonderful food off the bbq everyday and get my work done from the laptop on the couch, office, backyard deck or even on the sh!tter if I want...the idea of schlepping all the way to a office to write the same crap reports is not my fav, and the cats are way more forgiving than a boss for when you just gotta leave to fish for a bit.

Mandatory masks, temperature screenings, social distancing, etc. Loved working swings earlier this year. Now going in M-W and teleworking Th-F.

The price of building materials are ridiculous.
Makes me wonder if another 2007 isn't on the way or not.

As far as the trades and development, I think the reason is the low interest rates. Materials are expensive because low supply and high demand, I think that is probably temporary.

The real estate market where I live is red hot, Californians flocking in by the minute, same as it ever was. A new transplant in my hood from Illinois almost ran me over going 40mph down a narrow side street the other day. Message to all city slicker transplants: slow the [Bleeeeep!] down!

Supply/demand at it's finest....

Margins in many lines of work have increased significantly, odd but true.

Look at all the hobby, sport, extracurricular items as well. Guns, boats, off road vehicles, bikes, kayaks, etc. All spiked or literally are sold out due to supply/demand.

Looking at all the homeless camps sprouting up all over the place must mean sporting goods sales are off the hook.

Homeless camps are a sad deal. Why do you think so many are sprouting up?

April was very slow. Would have had more luck selling at a morgue.
Since then things have really taken off. June and July were excellent and it continues to be good.
I think it got to the point where stuff needed to be ordered so people just said [Bleeeeep!] it, let’s get this done.
It worked out well with most staff working at home, so little disruption to work flows and easy for social distancing etc.
I’m really liking working from home and hope I never go back to the office before I retire.
I’ve been walking a lot at lunch time and have logged over 500 miles since March. Taking a walk and coming home and having a good lunch and a cold beer has kind of become a routine.
I’ve put the bug in my boss’s ear that I’d like to continue to work, just not five days a week.

The supply chain has been way out of wack as this virus threw everyone’s forecasts off. Some folks cut back too drastically and are now playing catch up, which has caused some serious backorders.

Plenty of work and plenty to keep me busy. If only I could get some time to sneak out. I haven’t fished much the last couple of months. Hopefully that changes. I do have some time off for late muzzle season.

Hmmm, my hours of work have stayed the same. Been working from home since I retired 4 1/2 years ago. Main thing that's changed is the lack of getting together with people and no going out for dinner. Sociable Security income just stays the same. Life could be hella' lot worse, that's for sure.

I work with Cloud technologies and since so many businesses have and still are moving their computing power to the cloud, I am busy as a one legged man in a butt kicking contest. Even more so with Covid.

Technology consulting & development sales. Lost 30-40% my book of business instantly this spring and it took about 4 mos to build it back by pivoting approach, new client segments, etc. Now the old standbys are coming back and next year is shaping up to be double this year.

Absolutely love working from home and am way more effective. Thinking of buying out further with more land. The only commuting I see myself doing is an occasional trip to the airport if we ever start traveling for business again. One of my clients is saving over $4M/Qtr on travel costs so I sold them on developing a robotic telepresence platform with live augmented reality overlays that will not only replace much of their need to travel post Covid but by using the system for remote collaborative design & engineering they'll get to revenue realization 6 months sooner when onboarding new clients. Seeing as how that translates into $4M-$8M per each new client for them they didn't sneeze at my $2M pricetag.

Covid taketh away and covid giveth back...

I hear that loud and clear. I don't like being busy during fall and winter steelhead season rofl. Cadillac problems I guess. Glad a lot of us are keeping afloat and then some. I know people who have had to close their doors.
