Seems that at least some of the Red States are talking secession. Limbaugh seems to be pushing it.

Any thoughts on just how it would go and if the Red states would actually be able tp form a suatianble country.

It would go just about the same as that one time when I was five years old and had had enough of mom telling me what to do and how to act and blah blah blah.... I grabbed some Lincoln Logs, Leggo's and jammy's, put them into a pillow case and headed out into the woods to live happily ever after, mom just laughed and offered me a sammich as I left.
I opted for a grilled cheese sammich about 45 minutes later when I came back cause I missed my Mommy.

That's how I see it going.

Only that if you took 100% of the taxes collected you'd have a tough time paying to have new center lines painted on the roads.

I think the 206rs paid for these roads though, so after we secede they should continue paying for the maintenance.

I read a piece on the possibility for secession that noted the major economies in the world are primarily based in urban situations and the weakest (second and third world) tend to be rural and resource based. Food production, mining, timber, fuel extraction. It would seem that the Red states, at least at their seat of power, are extractive economies that tend to be low-income.

Another interesting aspect of secession, if done immediately as happened in 1860, would be that the Reds would likely have to deal with Covid on their own. Idaho would find it harder top ship patients out of state as it would now be out of country. It would be those illegal immigrants coming in and taking ICU beds from "us". Unless, for example, each patient came with a guarantee from the sending state to cover all hospitalization costs.

Secession is just idiot talk from people on the right that are like the pussy hat people on the left. Same kooks, different side of the aisle.

These attempts to secede (every time I type secede, it auto corrects to succeed??) are promoted by people trying to make a buck off of the gullible and easily led.

Lots of rallies, lots of fund raising, the creating of heroes and villains, then it all fades into background noise after the money flow slows.

I'm thinking this was tried on a very large scale not that far back in our history.

A little late to attend the Patriot Prayer group rally in Mossyrock today. Sounds like that town, and much of that county would like to secede from Washington. Perhaps a Go Fund Me site could be set up to move the whole lot of them to Idaho. Antifa was supposedly gathering in Olympia today. Maybe they plan to carpool to Mossyrock to watch the fireworks.
