Much as I love my Huskies, pretty positive they would have struggled to beat WSU and Oregon and found themselves nowhere near the PAC-12 Championship game.
As is, COVID comes in at the last second and propels the Dawgs to the Championship Game against a deserving USC team.
I would say that SC is going to stomp all over the Dawgs, but SC has done a remarkable job of being nice and playing down to their opponents.
It will be a close (and ugly) game with the Dawgs falling short due to a non-existent running game with their 5 backs and a QB that really can’t pass the ball all that well.
Don’t count out COVID! Odds are still good it makes an appearance this week and sidelines a team!
Prediction: COVID wins and meets their next opponent in the Rose Boel!

There's nobody in the Pac 12 that's worth a sh!t. That means there's no reason to think UW can't win this game unless they can't field a team.

Like to see the Apple Cup salvaged. Not sure the Husky footballers would want to play the Cougars in Pullman in late December. If there was a half inch of snow, the UW would be doomed...it's a westside thing.

Huh...I seem to recall the Dawgs clownstomping the Coogs and Uncle Rico, in the Palouse, in a snowstorm, the last time the Apple Cup was there in 2018.
Surely a Coog wouldn't so easily have forgotten that beat down?

College football including the Pac 12 needs to be changed to make it more competitive. It's pretty much the haves vs the have not schools. USC is looking like a pro team and they have been good at paying some of their star players. Nike University also. Then you have your Alabama's, LSU, Notre Dames, Ohio State's. I liked the game better when teams could sign a limited number of players who just missed academically qualifying.
In the NFL any team with the exception of the NY Jets have a fair chance of beating any other team. It's called parody.
I still like to follow NCAA football. It's nice to see Northwestern and Coastal Carolina playing well.

Partial qualifiers....or kinda like a "gray shirt" but not exactly.
The only way to fix the true "haves to have nots" is to expand the playoff to (8) or (16) teams. Right now, all the 5* players go to the Bama's & Clemson's of the world because they have high odds of making a (4) team playoff.
The other way is develop a HUGE walk-on program and offer "preferred walk-on status". I.e. the player pays for school to start and as soon as a ship opens, it's used on that player down the road. A great WO program allows schools to really save ships for top players while getting lesser players on the field (to develop depth). I know of one P5 school that has a WO room of about 80 players NOT on scholarship (which is 85). 165 players. That's a LOT of extra bodies and it takes a LONG time to develop AND it still doesn't make up for 5* talent.

As I recall, back when Nebraska was tough the squad had well over 100 players, as did Bear's 'Bama. I would rather see the number of scholarships limited more and given only to folks who academically qualify for the school.
Further, the NFL and NBA should be able to sign folks out of HS and keep them on a minor leaguer squad, like baseball. If somebody prefers a pro career ro classes, then go straight to the pros.

The scholarship limit was reduced from 105 in the 70’s to the current 85 in the early 90’s. With red-shirts, injuries etc I wouldn’t expect it to go down again anytime in the future. There are also preferred walk-ons that have the ability to earn a scholarship after their first year.
As far as the PAC 12 championship game goes, I’ll watch but really don’t care who wins. The PAC 12 will continue to be [Bleeeeep!] until they fire Larry Scott. SF

That was a pretty ugly game. Our conference looks like sh!t compared to the others in the Power 5.
Larry Scott needs to get fuckin' fired.

I hope Sark does well. He knows how to recruit and develop QB’s. Texas hasn’t had [Bleeeeep!] for great QB play in awhile besides the current kid. A lot of success also is based on the staff the HC builds. He needs to make keeping top in state talent for leaving for other schools and conferences.
I agree that Texas fans are obnoxious and impatient, but that is almost every fan base now. Worse case if he fails he’ll be something like Tom Herman. Unemployed and looking at getting a $15 million paycheck. That would certainly suck, wouldn’t it? SF

Listening to some of the talking heads about the hire they noted that Sark, or any new HC, has a really short window to develop "success". Like 3 or 4 years.
Seems to me that the guy needs a minimum of 4, and probably 5, so you can evaluate how ell he recruits and develops talent and year 5 may be the first year where a coach has not only the players that he recruited but 4 full years to recruit them.
This instant gratification B**lsh*t sucks. And I really can't bring myself to root for the 'Horns as they are in the same class as the Ducks.

The timeframe for coaches used to be longer, as most freshmen used to redshirt then play four years. Now a lot of freshmen play and if they are good enough, they are gone in three years. So what used to be a five year process in many cases has been shorten to three, maybe four years at the most. Then add in the transfer portal, kids flunking out etc...... SF

Or the ruptured Ducks, no way were they ever a top 25 team, yet there they were rated in the top 10 preseason. Then after losing to unranked teams they continued to be in the top 25. So when do those blue chippers start playing?

You'd think Sark could make a go of it at UT. Top shelf facilities, talent, and gobs of money.
Of course he flamed out at SC, and a decent coach oughta be able to make it at SC, too.
