Hatcheries have failed, the cost is outweighing the benefits, thinking more money will fix things is fools plan.
HSRC laid out the ground work, and there's only one way forward, which is protecting wild fish habitat or there's always golf.

It's not the hatcheries that are failing, they're reduced plants considerably or in some cases over 70%, of course the returns will fail.

But on the flip side of the coin, it is the hatchery fish that's the demise of the wild... You can't have both.

Governor Apple Maggot is ranked #50 out of 50 in the nation's governor list determined by the Cato Institute. NOT #1, NOT in the top ten, NOT in the top half, but last, dead last.
Yeah, keep supporting him, keep voting for him. And you wonder why our state is a mess.

Cato institute...lol. No surprise there.

Well the "DBS Institute of Trying Not to Die of Covid" ranks him near the top.

To be fair, Snake, Cato is not a reputable source of much...at least not much that is useful.

Fish on...

Do you really think that sport fishing even consumes 15 minutes a month of a governor's time?

This is so far down list that it's irrelevant to their long-term plans.

The tribal $$$$ does get some consideration though, probably near the top.

Arguing over it here is a waste of bandwidth.

CATO is a Liberterian think tank. At least we don't have a state income tax.

So you think you are getting over on the state government?
Think again, 10% sales tax and some of the highest property taxes in the nation more than makes up for no income tax.

Here is a quote from higher up the food chain in Culp's world.

"Trump says in bizarre Fox News rant that California has to ration water because it poured its supply into the sea to 'take care of certain little tiny fish."

"The Trump administration has moved to roll back protections for the fish to direct more water to farmers, who are among the president's strongest supporters in the state."

Lol, farmers might be his only supporters, California farmers have always voted Republican, so what?
How many farmers do you think there are?
Trump will lose California by a landslide, possibly the biggest in history.

It was the wealthy agricultural industry owners in California that first combined the ultra rich and poor religious groups in the republican party.

They knew it would be difficult to get the average person to vote for laws that would only benefit the ultra rich.

They took on the causes of the religious community, at least they said they did. The payoff was they got very close to 50% of the voting public.

The religious community would go along with just about anything to benefit the rich as long as you said you were on their side.

This happened during the dust bowl years and has continued on to this day.

I'd say the pastors of the mega churchs love this relationship.

I know some folks who work on CA water distribution. The Delta Smelt is blamed for running water through the delta and out to the Bay. While required under ESA, the real reason for the water movement is to keep saltwater at bay. If they din't run the water downstream, they seemed the farmers saltwater. Fum ducks.

Jay-Jay moved several NCW counties up from "Phase 1.5 to 2" yesterday!! (We feel like the Jefferson's over here!!) Interesting how the news media report "the data" differently.

The local rag here reports the actual Covid #'s as reported by the health dists on a daily account. To move from phase 1.5 to 2, "Inslee's restart plan was supposed to require counties to get down to 25 positives cases per 100,000 people over a two-week period. Chelan and Douglas counties are at about 138 positive cases per 100,000 people, according to the health district." Out of curiosity I read a similiar article this morning on the Seattle Times website, which lacked any of the wonky math to substantiate this sudden "promotion" for 5 Eastern/Central Wa counties. The Times just reported that Jay moved 5 more counties up to Phase 2 (YAY JAY!!)

Is Jay feelin' the heat in the kitchen from (Gulp!) Culp? Probably not, maybe just tired of everybody bitchin' at him?

Other people's stupid behavior relating to the "hoax" could very easily kill me, or leave me with long term health problems.

Other people's stupid eating habits may affect my wallet due to paying for their health care, but leaves me otherwise healthy and happy.

Far more areas of our lives could get back to normal if a certain segment of the population would just follow a few simple precautions.

This idea appears to be lost on a segment of society that is challenged in comprehending many aspects of critical thinking skills.

Thus my point, currently Chelan/Douglas Counties are at 138 cases/100K and the threshold to move to Phase 2 is 25 cases/100K. Seems Jay-Jay may fit into that segment of the population who's "critical thinking skills" are severely compromised?

I admit there could be WAY more issues at play than I'm privy to, but he has used the positive cases/100k as the litmus test for migrating up/down the Phase chart.
