It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

Both parties are complicit with deficit spending. Maybe Clinton was an exception to that (I don’t know) but if that’s the case I will take that back. The parties are ok with it and it isn’t going to change.
Keep misconstruing what I said. Reading comprehension for you seems to be another deficit in this discussion. Deficits do matter and shouldn’t be happening at all regardless of how much.
I’m a know it all who doesn’t actually know it all and I hate anyone who leans even slightly right of center with every fiber of my being because I’m miserable little man who acts tough on the Internet. Fixed it for you. Sure you did, Evo, err, Steamer.

Not sure how old you are Streamer, so IDK if you can remember back to the '90s? BUT from the mid-90's on until "W" showed up, the '90s were generally a great time (for a lot of the country, and me). Clinton wiped out the defecit, tech stocks had the market rolling (of course it was going to crash, even I saw it), housing starts were way up too.
IMO the R's started the BIG division in Federal Politics when Newt and Ken Starr went after Clinton for impeachment as a result of the Lewinsky hearings. The R's just wouldn't drop it, so what..he got a hummer, who would blame him??? Even though Newt was having an affair at the same time, as well as his predacessor as Speaker of the House also! Pot meet kettle...oh yeah..there were lots of steelhead too...

And Clinton was impeached by a group of Republicans for getting a BJ after being a great president in many ways, because who cares how good someone is at their job if they aren’t Jesus-like behind closed doors. The Reps were all Christian stroking holier than you types at this time, painting the Dems as the immoral ones, and it worked. In the near future after the Reps grand standing, many of the impeachment leaders like Newt were discovered to have had many affairs and been womanizers just like the Slick Willy Bill....and every career politician because they all want the fruits of power. In the next election, because the Reps were supposed the ones with the moral high ground, W was elected, an admitted former cocaine addict, alcoholic, and womanizer. He was all clean now so it was just fine by the moral hypocrites of the world.

Agree. That's what I've been saying for years. That's when the great divide started. About that time Limbaugh clone, fox news, was also born, acting like GOP state TV and brainwashing the gullible.

I know this is about Dimslee, and I still feel he has to go! But Culp ain't gonna be the guy. Jay-Jay needs to go though as he's a dimwit, ambulance chasin', free loader, who sway's where ever the $$$ takes him. As mentioned in another thread; Gary Locke - while quite mundane, was a fine govenor from what I remember? I'm just embarassed that the R party has had 8 years and the best they could find has been Bill Bryant (remember him, bet not?) and Culp for the middle of Nowhere, Wa. I'm just not the demographic I guess..
Regarding Clinton-I was in my mid/late 20's when that debacle was taking place, and I remember the amount of people I personally knew who were totally enthralled with the impeachment hearings, aka the "gullible". Probably the same folks who were just coming down from their "high" from watching the "OJ Debacle" too. "Court TV" was a new novelty that was sweeping the land of the daytime TV viewers, plus the new-fangled Interwebzz/24-hr instant media source w/chat rooms and "fake-news" outlets, etc.
I was probably naive at the time, but I assumed "The Clinton Investigation" was a Colossal Waste of time and taxpayer MONEY, and the end result (regardless of a vote of "impeachment") would be a moot point. Most of "us" knew this as well, as we probably didn't give a rats-azz that 'Ol Slick Willy got a Hummer in the Oval Office. Or that he did what every other married guy would do when he was confronted about it...lie, lie, and deny! It's human nature; plus factor in that he's a politician anyhow and that lieing/dishonesty comes second nature with upper level elected positions??? [Bleeeeep!], how could anyone be surprised?? I just lost so much respect for the R's who were pushing the witch hunt...
As I mentioned, 'Ol Bill was good for the economy, which was good to me! It allowed us to buy our 1st house when I was 22yo, and then a new pickup in '96. In '97 I stumbled on a deal we couldn't pass up on a newer jet boat. Sold my 1st boat I bought when I was 21yo, and the new boat opened up an entire new arena for us to recreate in. Life was grand, as we had 2 good jobs with minimal debt and we didn't even have a credit card. Fiscally, the economy was cooking along well from my perspective. By the end of the '90s we'd sold our first house, and moved out of town to the same house I have today. The tech stocks had taken a hit (I believe) but the market was still solid and consumer confidence was positive. But Y2K was imminent, and changes were coming...
I was raised a "R", but my wife was a "D" when I met her. Over time she had started to change some of her views to a more conservative perspective, and I was becoming way more moderate. But by the late '90's, thanks to the shait show the R's were hosting against Clinton, she had retraced her steps and I continued to become more liberal. By 2000, we both became so frustrated with anything political, we just tuned it out. Essentially we just worked, and went full on killin' fish and game. As we couldn't comprehend any of the macro political ideals/beliefs being served up anymore (especially from the R side). "The times, they were a changin"...."Dub-Ya" or Gore....

Culp is going to lose by double digits. You don't have to be bright to graduate from Chimicum HS. Inslee is looking pretty good. I still want a president from Washington state. Jay's problem is that he ran as a green candidate. Trump is taxing the hell out of me and creating a big debt just like his personnel debt that was revealed. $750 of income tax? Really! My federal income taxes rose in 2019 with Trump. I never received his welfare stimulus check. Lost over $100K in my retirement this year. I took some profits from the stock market on Friday. I see a stock market crash on the horizon. Now Trump is defunding social security right before I retire.

Governor Apple Maggot is a true politician. One day before tonight's debate, Jaybone relaxes Covid restrictions that could have been done weeks if not a couple of months before. Ironically, he won't debate Culp in the same room while being socially distanced due to Covid risk, but his new mandate would allow him to sit down in a restaurant and have drinks together a little longer than before. Read more here: https://mynorthwest.com/2212818/rantz-gov-inslees-brazen-coronavirus-mandates-politics/And if that is not enough for you Dimmer supporters, understand this: WA state has the 5th highest business closures in the nation. 4,975 businesses closed, 3,062 PERMANENTLY closed. What a leader!!

Culp rhymes with pulp, and that's what Culp will be after Inslee "steamrollers" him in the debate tonight. It's going to be like watching a westside pro team taking on a eastside junior varsity squad, but there's no mercy rule to end the game. Dimmer for the easy win, tonight and on November 3rd.

With Seattle having the lowest infection rate of all major cities in the US, and King County as a whole right up there, too, any complaining about how we're dealing with the Coronavirus pandemic around here should fall on deaf ears. But it won't. I watched an interview with Culp the other day...literally his only qualification is that he determined that he wouldn't enforce the law, and the "law and order" crowd loved that, for some reason. He comes across as pretty dense, not much of a speaker, and not particularly knowledgeable about...well, much at all. I'm sure he's a great guy, but he is not governor material, and probably would not be Sheriff in a county of any significance, either. Fish on... Todd

[Bleeeeep!] Culp. Inslee for the win. Inslee gets appointed to Biden’s team to some sort of climate change something or another. Denny Heck wins Lt. Governor seat and takes Inslee’s place when he leaves. Book it. Have to agree with the Reeferbum on this one...

This election, like all at this time, is about perceived ideologies, at not actual policies or out comes. Inslee is a democrat and Culp is a republican. That is all that will matter. Culp should have adequate to win on, but even if he does, it won't matter.

Makes you wonder since we were the first to get going with the Covid and had next to no testing available for many months in the early phases how many people went "unknown" for having it... Hands down though, Inslee handled this pandemic well. Masks work. Keith
