It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

You really seem to enjoy complaining. Always about something. Am I right? I at least give you credit when you say something remotely interesting or accurate, which happens to be approximately 2% of the time.

Sounds like something a bet welcher would say.

lol

Hey, I own it my little friend. No denying it here. I would expect no less from Shillshe if the shoe was on the other foot. The bet only provides more ammunition. He won this time.

Using what someone else might do to justify the gutless and low-down things you are doing is a strange flex.

But you do your Dark Side thing, and I'll pay my Dark Side bets like those that aren't bet welchers do.

You made the bet. Deal with it.

Or don't, and join Welchster and WELCH G. in that other category.

Again, as already mentioned.

You don't "know" you don't have it, not having symptoms doesn't mean you're not positive. Testing negative today doesn't mean you won't test positive tomorrow.

Not spewing your spittle on the rest of us reduces the potential for others possibly being infected.

The people that think they're far smarter than the actual experts on infectious diseases think none of it is true because it doesn't fit into the reality and facts they "want or need" to believe.

Those in charge know this segment needs a way to show how smart they are by not following the recommendations of the real experts. So letting them wear a bandana and show they can't be intimidated by a hoax disease or caught doing something for the social good, is felt to be better than nothing.

This whole approach to limiting the spread has been dumbed down to accommodate those that can't, or won't follow simple precautions.

My brother in law and sister both tested positive this week, to top it off she tested positive for breast cancer on the same day.

Lest you all forget Cleveland steamer came up with Bingo Wings, that in and of itself should allow him a lifetime pass to the dark side.

There are plenty of credible sources to get information on Covid other than Chehalis WalMart or Barrier Dam.

Sorry to hear this Jody, hoping for positive outcomes to her.

I started off during this pandemic partially afflicted by all the fear mongering, and rightfully skeptic about the claims. I soon took it seriously and have had a hard time watching natural selection affect those who dont. Inside and outside my own family. One truth about the 'rona is, it helped everyone see how smart or f*cking stupid their friends and family really are.

I got my second shot Wednesday, after being a anti vaxxer of sorts to begin with.

I now have a really good fishing buddy who many of you know where who is only 36, Strong and healthy, who is hospitalized with Covid. Super low 02 levels and im praying for him and his family every day. TBH, he was one of the non believers to begin with, and I bet that tube strapped to his face has altered some thoughts over the last week. It's been a tough ride for him.

Moral is, if you think this is a Hoax and wanna parade around without a mask on, you'll very likely soon find out the hard way you were wrong.

You want to place a bet on that? If I die of Corona within the next year, you can have $1000 out of my estate. If a year from now, I still live, you pay $1000. Deal?

You go ahead and play natural selection roulette. I want no part of it. I'm going fishing.

I hope your sister and brother in law get through this well. My wife's friend came over last weekend and she just had breast cancer surgery last month. She may have to do chemo.

My mother in law got the virus last year at her assisted living facility and was just diagnosed with lung cancer. We're going to see her next weekend. Seems that the virus made her memory worse.

What are the actual odds of that x the actual odds of getting infected by me if I were infected if I am not wearing a face diaper? If you can't quantify the risk you have no right to order me around over some vague improbable event. If you are worried about the risk of an extremely improbable even, why don't you just stay home or social distance from me? Why does your unreasonable unquantified fear allow you to control others? Why not just control yourself and let people take the risks they are willing to take. I am willing to risk going out with no mask, and if you are correct about the risk and are not just a frightened coward, show me the numbers.

I honestly expected a better response from you, this was right out of the denier handbook.

Your logic as presented is.
Since this is a brand new virus, and we haven't had time to accumulate data or review it, I can make up my own rules and believe anything I want.

The data is there for the effectiveness of maskes in general and for other diseases, so is distancing and taking other precautions.

You can throw out all that data and consider it useless, or error on the safe side and do the unthinkable... by wearing a proper mask.

It appears you purposely avoid much of the data because it doesn't agree with your preconceived opinions.

Being skeptical is fine, but don't be stupid while doing it.

And the box you pointed to is part of the dumbing down needed to help some people be a bit safer. And I'm hoping you're smart enough to understand why anything over your mouth and nose is better than nothing.

Here's my last two weeks of cowering in fear.

I was in Butte MT, SLC UT, St George UT, Las Vegas, Palm Springs, Riverside CA, then back north on the same route. Plus worked with customers and in our lab for a week.

I hiked in Zion National Park, Kolob Canyon, Valley of Fire state park, Capitol Reef NP, Joshua Tree National Park, Mohave National Preserve, plus a couple places in the hills around Riverside CA. I was going to stop by Yellowstone on the way back but the temps were around zero in the park.

Also arranged a future fishing trip in Flaming Gorge with a customer.

I have my shots and out of common courtesy used a KN95 mask at all times in public places, with customers, and in the lab.

It's terrible how the "MAN" is controlling my life, I can't actually believe how oppressed I am by wearing a mask.

I don’t think anyone here is denying that masks offer some level of protection against the virus. I also don’t think it takes a scientist to determine that any type of barrier is better than nothing. With that said, the effectiveness of masks is what is debatable because the very limited science does in fact say masks offer protection against the virus but that it is minimal. I don’t mind wearing masks in certain situations, but in others it certainly is bit extreme and can be an inconvenience.

The problem most people have is the research suggests limited effectiveness at best, yet instead of masks being recommended they are mandated. My guess is there would only be a slightly lower compliance rate if masks were recommended verses mandated. Most reasonable people will wear masks when appropriate and not wear them when it isn’t necessary. People should have the ability to exercise their own discretion instead of being forced to comply with arbitrary rules that are rooted in limited science and do not provide a measurable difference.

Most importantly to note, mask effectiveness is maximized through proper usage and hygiene practices. Most people shove the mask in their pocket when not needed and forego washing their hands. They will also touch their masks to adjust without hand washing as well. Practices such as these nullify the benefits the mask is intended to provide.

People use the results of the least effective masks to imply all masks provide minimal protection.

Yes, a bandana provides minimal effectiveness compared to an N95. It seems very easy to understand a mask designed for this purpose would perform much better than a snot rag.

A surgical type mask was never designed for this purpose either, so obviously it won't perform as well, but is better than a bandana or nothing.

This ain't hard folks, but some people make it that way.

I'd go for that, but even a bandana is difficult for many people.

The bandana group tends to forget they have a nose.

Or move to Utah, if you listen to the locals covid doesn't exist there.

I frequent a hotel chain that is rather strict on masks, even in Utah. Plus they claim to do extra cleaning. Weekends in tourist areas are crowded now, but weekdays the hotels are empty.

The National Parks were full of very safety compliant people.

I travel alone in the car, so that's fine.

Most of the meals were take-out, or I bought groceries and prepared it in the room.

I ate inside at one restaurant in Utah, again, covid doesn't exist there, so it was safe.
