While talk about police reform consider that Game Wardens and such deal with obviously armed people on a daily basis and they don't shoot a whole lotta folks. I don't they walk up to folks with their weapons drawn. I know, from having worked with many of them, that they do encounter all sorts of hairy situations but they don't kill that many.

Not saying that the situations are identical, but it seems to me that police( in a broad brush sense) are way too hair-triggered.

I've never felt this was necessary.
Perhaps they should learn to be comfortable in their own skin and quit trying to be something their not?

It seems most of this shoot first ask questions latter mentality stems from the qualified immunity statute.
It doesn't seem unreasonable that law enforcement be held accountable, you know when they kill unarmed fleeing citizens.

Some poor decisions and bad cops for sure.

Poor choices by the suspects usually open the door for both.

When an officer says "FREEZE" "PUT YOUR HANDS UP", what do you do in that situation as in you yourself?

So by disobeying a officers direct order, he then gets to be the judge, jury and executioner?
We are talking about unarmed people here who ran or struggled with the police and were killed.
How can anyone with a brain bigger than a pea not see this is not "Protect and Serve".
These are street executions, and lawmen are hiding behind qualified immunity rules.

Struggled with the police? Why would they be struggling?

I'll tell you my opinion why... Protect and serve is what they do but when their life is on the line they have split decision choices to make BECAUSE the perp in the moment put them in that spot..... CHOICES made by the perp leading up to the Police/perp contact and CHOICES in the moment when Police/perp enforce the laws.
