Besides being garbage in every measurable category, the urban areas in Kentucky are worse than the urban areas here in western Washington.
And...don't forget where that "40% of Kentucky's income" comes from...it comes from taxpayers in states like Washington and California, where people pay a lot more in taxes than they get back, unlike those right wing Socialists in Kentucky.
I do like Kentucky bourbon, though, and I'm glad I don't have to go to that schitty third world state to get it.
Fish on...

I'd visit Kentucky in a heartbeat, but I'm fond of the country vs "the city". Not overly fond of Kentucky bourbon, as I prefer Canadien Blends.
I have a very close friend pushing 80yo that migrated to WA in his mid 20's and right away he discovered steelhead/salmon on the Snohomish system. While the returns are a fraction of what they once were, he is still aggressively hunting these fish, as he was raised a harvester in Kentucky. He returns there at least twice a year to fish striped bass on multiple reservoirs, and to hunt whitetails in multiple counties. From what I've been told by a native, Kentucky is a sportsman's paradise excluding saltwater species. I've been meaning to go back and experience the striped bass and whitetail killing, as his family has it dialed in! I need to do it soon, as time keeps moving along. His "wall" in the family barn is quite impressive with all the horns...all from public land.

I would love to visit Kentucky, and everywhere else, too...just wouldn't want to live there, be subjected to those fuckin idiotic politicians, or be part of the worst economy in the country.

Todd Or you could sell your house in Seattle, buy half the fukkin state, kill piles of whitetails and actually go fishing with the expectation of double digits instead of random ass closures. Or you could go to Mighican (tied with illinois as my 2 least favorite mid west states to visit) and catch double digit tules and steeles (along with sh!t loads of ditch pickles etc)

Kentucky was nice. Blue grass, white picket fences, and racing horses galore.
Seriously some nice/pristine looking horse estates. I swear the blue grass was manicured by hand and the wooden fences were painted daily.

You flunked geography I see. Saltwater species? The only thing that you can see is that your colostomy bag is full, old man. Over the years I've skipped past hundreds of your responses (here or back on ifish) as they were useless drivel, just as your response was above. Once again you set yourself up nicely, proving that you have always been a fukkin' imbecile. BTW (by the way) It appears that the stage 3 dementia has exacerbated over the past several months, as you're now sliding into Stage 4. You better go do some fun things now while you can remember them...like taking your boat out. If you're still allowed to drive? If not, ya probably can't remember your way back home and that's probably why you are so angry...

Been to Kentucky on business WAY MORE than I'd care to admit. Can confirm it's an utter chithole, but it's a very easy place to get your drunk on. Hot browns washed down with Bourbons starts a day off nicely. Horses are entirely overrated.

Portland is considered okay and scores a 302.0 “lower than average crime”.
Interesting statistic on Portland, it had 0 DUI citations in the last 2 months, neighboring Beaverton is averaging around 90 a month. The cops are doing such a good job that they ended Drunk driving for the fine citizens of Portland..

Was in Portland recently and can confirm it’s looking pretty $hitty in some parts. Saw about 6 vehicles with personally added boots on them to stop theft. I saw about 6 roof top cargo boxes left wide open as to make it clear they are empty. Saw a lot of cars with broken windows.
Visited friends in a nice neighborhood and saw 2 POS cars full of derelicts looking for something to steal. These rigs were so [Bleeeeep!] and driving in circles through a neighborhood and very out of place.
The town does have an air of lawlessness. You just see signs of petty crime everywhere. People are straight loco for paying what they pay for an ordinary house on an ordinary street in that town.
Another weird thing is you just don’t see kids playing anywhere outside except parks and under parental supervision. It does not feel like a family friendly town anymore.

Was in Portland recently and can confirm it’s looking pretty $hitty in some parts ... The town does have an air of lawlessness. You just see signs of petty crime everywhere. People are straight loco for paying what they pay for an ordinary house on an ordinary street in that town ... Another weird thing is you just don’t see kids playing anywhere outside except parks and under parental supervision. It does not feel like a family friendly town anymore. I've been going through Portland about once a month for the last several years. I agree completely with this. I don't even like getting off the freeway there anymore and I won't leave my car out of my sight in that city. Notice that all the crime is in areas that don't allow carry of loaded guns or even loaded magazines without a CPL that they won't give to out of state residents. Total fvcking bullsh!t. Usually in Washington anytime I leave the house I have a a 9mm ghost gun, and anytime I leave the town I live in I take an AR-15 ghost gun with 6 loaded mags, a black ski mask, handcuffs and a knife in addition to the 9mm ghost gun but you can't have any of that loaded in Portland. So in Portland I bring a 20 gauge 16 inch barrel youth shotgun (because it's smaller and easier to maneuver around inside a car) with a half dozen shells of 00 buck in my pocket. Usually when there are sketchy people I put the black ski mask on just for the intimidation factor. If someone starts fvcking with you it's really easy slip and shell or two in and the click-clack of a shotgun is easily recognizable to anyone. Nobody fvcks with a guy wearing a black ski mask and holding a shotgun. Walking around Portland I always strap a KaBar to my belt and carry a 4 D-cell battery maglite in my hand to use as a club. You could also bring pepper spray or a taser if you don't feel like beating a scumbag junkie to death with a maglite or gutting them with a knife. Portland is a total sh!thole full of disgusting degenerates, criminals and junkies. Even worse than Seattle by far.
