You can still float from Metzler to 18 can't you. I'm aware that auburn black diamond bridge is the higher one by 18.

From Whitney to soos creek you can fish from the boat, from soos down you can't. You can't even put a boat in below soos creek because of the logjam.

My E-mail was returned to me by the program fish manager and the only section of the Green that is open to fishing from a floating device is up stream of the Auburn Blackdiamond road.Sturza you can still float the river just can't fish from a boat.

I keep seeing Metzler mentioned on the
Green River, but I can't seem to find it on any maps. Is it between Hiway 18 and Flaming Geyser? I am new to fishing the river. Thanks

The float from Whitney to 18 is brutal!! Don't even attempt it if you aren't experienced!!

Hey brah,

If you aren't very experienced don't do the Green. To many jams and sweepers that I guy how isn't experienced enough to get in trouble. Had a buddy go down with us in his boat that didnt have that much experience and almost lost his boat on one of the sweepers. I'd stick to the crummie, sky, or puyallup if I was a beginner. Just some words of advice. If you do decide to go don't take the jams litly the river gets alot of logs down it when it blows and the river can change fast.

Fellas,
Haven't floated her yet this year...How are the typical tight spots ie. around the Blue house, etc, etc. Saw a bunch of logs stringing across the river below neely. looks like it's passable to the right side, not sure though as I was looking down river from Neely. What's the scoop???

Thanks!

Sauk,

Its all passable this year unlike years of pass. The usual log jams down under metzlers but nothin unpassable.

Kevin,

Thanks for the scoop! Get this....I drove down to Whitney and Soos yesterday to see what was going on and counted 12 trailers. It was pretty late in the day so I would imagine that even more had already pulled and left. Boy!.. must have looked like the seventh fleet going down the little river. The guys that I talked to said that they didn't touch a thing and saw none hooked. But hey...at least they had lot's of company!?

Just an opinion, but I frimly believe that opening the Green to fishing out of floating devices was a huge mistake. Greedy, Greedy, Greedy! I knew this would happen.

We share the same thoughts about it. We always knew if they re-opened it to fishing out of the boat the floatilla would arrive. Now that they have, sure as heck, here comes everybody in the county. Doesn't help with all the other rivers that "normally" have good runs of fish are all punched. I'm sure once everyone figures out that the little river is just not that productive, they'll go back to their normal haunts.

As an important side note..When Robin and I were running erands today we saw two DB trailers each missing a tire. Neither had spares. That's pretty darn low of someone! Reminds me of many years ago on the Sauk. You never knew what you would find when ya got back to the wagon. Looks like the natives are restless about all the pressure.

yeah,
had a bud float it today they didnt hit anything but helped out one of the guys how's tire was taken. Might not want to leave the trailers down there I guess. To bad someone thought that they had to do that. Saw twelve trailers down there last Sun and a bud saw right around that many on Sat.
