Seems like Garcia engineered a good one here. I am going to try this one but there ain't one on any counter. Sick and tired of the Curado and Calcutta. If you used an EON, tell me about it.

GI Joes's had a add in the STS saying they had them on sale but they do not have them in stock. I was told by a rep for the reel that the first ones off the line were not working up to there stand..Hope to see them soon as I would love to get my hands on one myself.

From what I understand they are still aways off. They just keep getting delayed and delayed. They have had major production problems.

I have one comming from tackledirect. It should be here sometime wed or thursday of next week. I was going to use this reel for saltwater salmon and use my Calais for fresh.
I will let you know how it compares when I receive it and try it out next week.

Aerofly, what kind of reel is the Calais? Who makes this and where can I find a picture one? How does it compare to a Calcutta? Dan

The EON does look interesting. I'm perfectly happy with my Curado though.

I tried to locate an Eon right after Christmas.They had a 25% off deal going if purchased by 12/31.I couldn't locate one and finally emailed Purefishing/Abu and was told to try one of the Nat'l catalog outfits but they were all backordered to Feb.I don't think that any of these reels were available for us out here in Wa.Did anybody find an Eon for sale in in Wa ?Sure would have been nice to get that 25% off.
Six bearings,built by Abu and a lot less $ than the curado that I keep reading about.Could be a great reel.I would love to read an "after action" report by anyone who manages to find one.

I have had an Eon backordered from Basspro, which was the first place I saw this reel, since mid Oct. I would hope they still honor the 25% off when it finally comes in. Even though it looks like an interesting reel, I doubt that I will use it to replace my Curado for most river fishing. I'll probably use it more for salt water and Fraser kings.

Got a notice today when i called them to see if my reel was on its way. they said in six weeks.
What?
they told me it was shipped but the person made a mistake.
No reel for 6 weeks
