Just got off the phone with a friend of mine who fished last Thursday and Friday. 4 of them went and only caught 9 fish. 4 were down so they only kept 5. I heard that the problem is that the rivers have been so low that the nets are too effective.

During normal years the rivers blowout and the fish can get past the nets. This year is a different story. I also heard they are netting Tuesday through Sunday. Good luck if you go.......I don't think it will be representative of the last couple of years. Unfortunately I guess I’ll have to stay on the eastside this weekend.

Cook is slowing down pretty good. I heard a guide did good on the salmon 2 days ago. I just got in from the Quinault. Got one 17, one 10, released a re-run, and lost one. That was me and one client on the Quinault. The river is in pretty good now and should get even better with these big tides this week. The hatchery at the lake had had some good numbers recently, the uppere river strays should show up soon.
