3 Days of Chinook fishing in area 9 is great... The State is so generous with our resources...

Wonder how much money was out on the water,, boats,, licenses and gear for that 3 day fishery?

Washington State is sure getting lots of revenue for the very little effort they are putting out...

They are too busy rigging elections,, laundering money, trafficking illicit goods and paying out hush money to protect Pedophiles...

Go Bob Furguson!

Don't get me started. 3 days? If it's that bad keep it closed. MA6 has had a 2 limit on marked chinook since July 1st. How does that happen in a mixed stock fishery? I didn't fish the opener because was our anual crabbing the San Juans trip. Didn't want to do both even though it opened in the same day as crab. Did get out for the late announced opener in MA10 yesterday. What's up with announcing an opener at 4pm the day before? Why was MA9 excluded with MA6 allowing 2 Chinook? Doesn't make sense? Kingston was really slow. No keepers for us and saw only 1 other fish released for about 50 boats on a good morning tide. Did rain, which maybe the weather change turned them off. Checker checked 6 fish for 19 boats when we pulled out. I'm getting to the point of not even participating in this BS any more. PS anglers should be furious!

BTW. A first for me, I saw a pair of WDFW Research personell were on the water at Kingston and Jeff Head runnin around in an older boat at best, asking boaters where they launched? What's up there sleeves next with that data?

They have some type of internal metric they use to estimate the number of boats based on the number of trailers in launch parking lots. Say they see 10 boat trailers at the launches they might estimate 20 boats on the water. The way they come out with the number to use for their internal metric is to go around and ask everyone where they launched. If they cover say 50% of the launch sites with a trailer count they will double their number for the estimate for example. Next time instead of asking everyone they will count the trailers and factor in their metric. Then they are going to use that number to guess what the catch is based on another metric, like encounters per angler or such.
