I am with you all on the teaching of someone on how to row. I have been rowing boats since I was about 8 years old. I use to take regular old prams down the snoqualmie and skykomish as a kid. So when I got into my first drift boat it was a piece of cake.
Ever since then I have only had two fishing partners that can actually row, I have a bunch of guys that think they can, but it is hard to fish or even think of fishing when you are going backwards down the river or you are in the brush. I do get allot of laughs out of this but it isn't so funny when you go buy one of your favorite holes and do not get to fish it. Any ways I like Justins lake theory since I live on a lake and I could sit on my deck and drink beer as I watch guys who think they can row , practice with the boat in front of me. I guess patience is the key when teaching green horns.

Heee Hawwww, Heeee Hawwwwwwww. Just a little humor intended for my brother Ben. Let me explain, last spring we were fishing a river in bear country and my brother had done all the rowing for the last three days. He is a guide and was giving us the royal treatment, well, we decided to give him a break and my buddy told him let him have a go with the oars. My buddy cracked open the Crown Royal, handed it to my brother and grabbed the oars.

Well, you know the rest, my brother started getting on our buddie's rowing technique, as he kept on swerving back and forth and putting our plugs out of the zone. All of a sudden my brother starts yelling heee haawwww and shouts out.....you're rowing like a donkey, just like the tail on his A** , back and forth. Well our buddie's ego was bruised and then tried to no avail, to prove that he could keep the boat tracking straight, the harder he tried the worse it got. And when that Crown Royal started to kick in it had us laughing so hard that we were almost crying.
That was a great trip and can't wait to do it again! Guess you had to be there?
