Spoon,
Which BS is it that has been proven false?
Who is it that has a problem with DEI? I'm no expert, but I haven't heard that it's minorities that have a problem with it. That kinda' leaves whites, correct? If you know something that I don't, you can edjumacate me perhaps.
WDFW, if Biden and Harris are epic failures, please list them for me. I've only got southern border. What else?
Driftin', don't get your hopes up. Most PP members have drifted away, and I don't see this place coming back to full steam. this is the bs i speak of salmo. Let me take you to school on dei. First, the folks that get upset about it. To them, it has nothing to do with race. Let me repeat. Nothing to do with race. Its about people getting an important position based 'only' on their race, sexual identity or political beliefs, instead of actually being qualified. It kind of chits on the people that put in the work. Very similar how legal migrants feel about illegals in this country. Kjp and Harris are great examples of this. Hired being an African american, lesbian, women. Absolutely terrible at their jobs. Ill list some more biden/Harris failures that you easily forgot. 40yr high inflation. Inflation reduction act that did not reduce inflation at all, the embarrassing Afghanistan withdrawal. The administration hiding bidens mental decline just to try to install another broken toilet in Harris. With no votes. Salmo has a tiny problem with actual facts.

Spoon,
Hiring someone based only on their race and in the absence of qualifications for the job is, IMO, stupid, but I'll take the high road and just call it counter-productive. IMO, the argument for diversity and inclusion is that qualified people are often not considered because of their race, gender, or sexual identity, etc. You will not find me recommending that an unqualified person be hired because they happen to be one of the under-represented minorities. I'm trying to be clear; does this help?
Ironic, isn't it, as Trump is appointing the least qualified candidates for AG, DNI, SecDef, and I just read also SecDOI. I guess Trump has his own special kind of DEI, huh?
We've already talked about illegal immigrants, but I'll reiterate my opinion that the preferred number of illegals in the country is zero. Deporting all illegals gets complicated when many of them have been in the US for years, decades, and have families (children who are US citizens) and established positions in their respective communities. I don't have an easy answer to that. Do you?
If the inflation reduction act hasn't reduced inflation, then please explain to me why inflation has dropped from around 9% 2 1/1 years ago to between 2 and 3% now.
We've already talked about the Afghan debacle withdrawal. You do realize don't you, that Trump negotiated that withdrawal directly with the Taliban and excluding the government of Afghanistan to be withdrawn by May 2022. Biden inherited that withdrawal obligation directly from Trump. Got that? Biden delayed the final withdrawal until August because the military leaders in charge of it said that it would be a disaster with heavy losses to do it by May. So Biden allowed the delay until August. Still a disaster, but a lesser one than would have occurred by sticking to Trump's timetable. Can we agree to allocate blame where it is deserved?
As for Biden's decline, he has demonstrated that he is capable as president. He just isn't capable of running for president, which the debate made clear. Choosing Harris instead of another Democrat is the Party's prerogative, legally. Since you don't like Democrats, why do you care?
Salmo has zero problem with facts, but he has zero tolerance for "alternative" facts which are not facts at all.

Inflation is still 20% higher than when trump left office. Anybody that buys groceries or puts fuel in their vehicle knows this. If you actually knew how to look for this information, you would find that from when biden took office til October '24 inflation is still at an overall 21%. And biden/Harris is solely responsible for the chit show Afghanistan withdrawal. Nobody else, salmo. More than half of america knows this, and elected the right person for the job. Biden also hasn't demonstrated anything but turning america into a socialist utopia and the laughing stock around the world. Looks like he now is going to allow Ukraine to use long range missiles to strike deep into Russia, hes pretty much provoking ww3. Right before trump takes office. Kind of like a 'warhawk' move a Cheney would make. And yes there is an easy answer on immigration. If you're illegal, you got to go. Families can go together. We have a legal process. Go the legal way and you wont have anything to worry about. These are 'facts.' so learn to cope bud.

if a can of Progresso soup was 1.30 in 2020, and is now 2.38 cents, how much inflation is that? if a T shirt was 5 dollars, and now its 9 dollars, how much inflation is that?
as far as being "qualified" for a position, at one point, everyone in politics started from scratch, everyone... give them their chance like a normal human being...

Spoon, apparently we're getting our information about inflation from different sources. I got mine from various news articles and news program reports. Where is your 21% overall report from? (You know, inflation is typically measured as an annual rate, but whatever.) I am fairly good at math, so if you have a source or sources I can look up and verify, that will help. I see that prices are still higher. That's what inflation does. Prices are unlikely to come down much. As for the causes, all the economists I read say it was Covid, the supply chain disruption, and increasing the money supply by both Trump and Biden. You apparently overlook any negative baggage associated with Trump. That's truly MAGA and blind adoration.
Looks like we agree to disagree about the Afghanistan withdrawal. How can it be soley Biden's fault when Trump made the agreement of a date certain, excluded the Afghan government, and released 5,000 Taliban prisoners, making them available to help fight the US as it withdrew? Ignoring all that requires willful ignorance. Just the facts.
Biden has made the US the laughing stock of the world? Please list the names of those who are laughing at the Biden administration. Facts please, not innuendo.
Ukraine: I guess you don't value democracy (obviously you don't care about democracy if you vote for Trump.), I do. If I were in Biden's shoes, I'd ship a healthy supply of tactical nukes to Ukraine for its ultimate defense if Putin threatens it. Maybe you forgot about the agreement to protect Ukraine in exchange for it giving up its nukes. Russia, via Putin, double-crossed on that deal. Kinda' makes sense to restore the nuke balance and see what Putin's move is then. This one is more about opinion than facts, except the nuke agreement is a fact.
Regarding the illegal immigrants, we aren't so dissimilar on principle. But I'm considering some of the direct issues, like it's cost, including the $90 billion that the immigrants pay in taxes that will be lost. Who's going to make that up when Trump is extending (and maybe increasing) tax breaks to the wealthy and corporations. You? Maybe thinking things through is not your strong suit. It certainly isn't Trump's.

Salmo,
Actual inflation is much more than what is being reported. But you are a CNN watching boomer so you will parrot whatever slant the media claims. Most Trump supporters here (myself included) don’t love Trump, simply see him as better than anything democrats have put forward. Most of America probably believes this too honestly.
So you claim that by not supporting Ukraine you don’t support Democracy? LMAO. Since when does providing aid to countries not in NATO that are encouraged to break agreements somehow not supporting Democracy? You really are a phuckin parrot and dumber than the shillster. LMAO.
You forget that the United States is more accurately described as a constitutional republic instead of a democratic nation. Power belongs to individuals and the people not to be infringed upon by the majority. But again, the overwhelming majority of Americans don’t want war or to be involved in Ukraine. The US needs to stay out where they belong. The US started this war with Russia long ago. My Ukrainian wife and her family actually agree as well. The only people who disagree are Democrats and war mongers like yourself.
You are actually embarrassingly stupid on a variety of things as you simply parrot whatever mainstream position or inaccurate ideas are floated around by the media or ill-informed, blue-pilled, popular belief.

My first thought of Biden's policy change was to be cynical. But looking at what is transpiring, I have to wonder if it came out the meeting with Trump from last week. Remember that Trump claimed he would end the war immediately. Supposedly he called Putin and advised him against escalating. Putin did and Biden immediately responded. Seeing is how I do not see any thing from Trump himself coming out against this, is it possible that Biden is doing as asked or advised? Or is this Biden trying to derail Trump. I suppose only time will tell.
It should be noted, that several European countries appear to agree with the decision to allow Ukraine to accelerate.
This all may put Trump in a position to better negotiate. My guess is that the end of this war is near.

Trump did confidently claim he would end the war as president-elect. I will hold him to that.

with the US giving ATACMS to Ukraine, and then them immediately using them to hit deep inside Russia, the war is far from over, and likely will now explode...
Zelensky is a crook, and a damn good one at that....

While we give them billions. This is the plan all along. Lets see how broke we can make america. While our enemies prosper. Trump was right, Europe isn't paying their fair share.

Let's not forget that militaries all over the world have learned a great deal about what warfare looks like now. The Ukraine civil war (what it really is) has definitely been a great weapons testing and counters environment. Too bad the civilians and soldiers are the ones that have suffered from it. In the end, Russia will take what they want and gain a lot of economic benefit from their victory. Not sure if this is true but I read that 1/4 of the Ukrainian population is still out of the country. Putin's longing for the good old days of the Soviet Empire, and our encouragement of westernizing Ukraine has led to this.
That being said...F**ck Russia!!

Streamer,
If inflation is much more than is "being reported," then how on earth do you know? Do you have some special measuring device that none of the rest of us have? I read that it was around 9% in 2021, slightly lower in 2022, and way down in 23 and 24. So yeah, that's around 20% over the 4 years. That doesn't mean it isn't down between 2 and 3% now. I watch a little CNN, but not much. I generally like the WSJ for economic and finance information. Where do you get yours?
Who was "encouraged" to break an agreement? The agreement I was referring to was the one where Russia and the US (and maybe UK, don't remember for sure) agreed to protect Ukraine in exchange for Ukraine sending its nukes to Russia. I didn't see anyone "encourage" Russia to double cross and invade Ukraine. I only see one bad actor in this scenario, and it's Putin. Show me where I'm wrong; I'm highly coachable.
I'm very much aware that the US is a democratic republic and not a pure democracy. That is why we have elected representatives in government instead of the masses voting on every single thing. I thought most Americans both support democracy and are supportive of Ukraine. Where did you get your information to the contrary? (Besides your wife.) And just how did the US start this war long ago? I must have been fishing that day, as I don't seem to remember it that way.
Me, a war monger? If you actually knew me, you'd know I'm a boomer hippy peacenik. I get a lot of information from mainstream media, which only became "fake news" when Trump invented the term for anything he disagrees with. Regardless of information source, my positions are my own, which is likely why I'm not 100% aligned with hardly anyone. I've been called a lot of things, but honestly, you're the first to call me "embarrassingly stupid."
Spoon,
European nations have supplied massive amounts of weapons and a very large amount of civilian aid to Ukraine. Where'd you get the idea that they "haven't given a dime?" And BTW, what nations are laughing at the US, other than for electing Trump? That's the only criticism I've heard about.
Twister,
That's one thing here I do agree with, fvck Russia!
