Thinking about one more night out this winter. Anyone finding or hearing of any anywhere lately? There's some decent tides coming up end of the week.

Todd.

Yes I saw some in Swansons grocery here in Aberdeen. Fresh in the seafood section and only about a buck a package.
Do you use squid for? and what is the best way to rig it.
Thank You.

Like millions of other folks he probably eats them! They taste a bit better than razor clams but are a whole lot easier to deal with.
You can catch them casting jigs from well lighted piers in the dark of night.

Native Son: I'm still hoping to jig some squid, too, but keep getting conflicting reports on P.A.'s "season." Can you clue me in to which months are best? Thanks!

1. I want to catch them and eat them. I know where to buy them if I want to, but they're pretty fun to catch.

2. Besides eating them, if I catch really little ones, say 4 inches, I cut off the tentacles and rig them on a size 1 hook, put the hook right through the middle and top of the tentacles, then put the top through the egg loop. Pop on a corkie and drift fish with it. I think squid are a major ocean food for steelhead, so it gets them interested.

3. Anyone in Seattle still catching any?

4. Dave, I've had phenomenal fishing of the pier at Ediz Hook in the fall for squid. Massive schools.

Thanks!

Todd.

I was told that squidding in PA was a summertime affair. Is that true or are they around now?
