ElkRun....you are so right..
But not only do they have us by the nads, but they are getting a pretty firm grip on thier nads as well.
I spoke with some old timers at at lake the other (Sat March 30th) and a couple of them said that was their last day fishing. They did not want to give their SS# and their percieved privacy.
I explained to them that anyone with a bit of knowledge can find out all kinds of info on them, but they didn't believe it.
One gentleman understood what I was saying, and commented how the F&G is going downhill, less opportunities, overmanagement / undermanagement, overcrowding, old age, yadda yadda yadda...
But it got me thinking about how many others will "retire" from fishing with this new system?
I myself am considering it and I am only 32. The price increases, the cheap out of state costs (ours need to be higher) and all the statements made above by the old timer.
Does my $200.00 a year in fees hurt the F&G? No.
But if I "retire" from the outdoors then my wife won't spend $100.00 in fees, our ten year old son probably won't hunt, and our up & coming son will be raised in a non-hunting/fishing household and will probably be Pro-PETA if the schools have their way.
Could this happpen? Hell if I know..
But the old men got me thinkin..
