When did these two totally different subjects come together? I guess I was asleep. Any of you people have a explanation? J.C.B

I assume you mean about having to add your social security number to get your license. Yeah, I can explain. This is a statewide thing for ALL types of licenses. If you get so far behind in your child support, the state takes away your priviledges. No renewel on hunting/fishing licenses, drivers, and renewel on tabs. It doesn't help me any though, my ex is way behind on her support, but she doesn't fish/hunt so doesn't help at all.
Plus, I'll add this, some, not all, who don't pay support will also be the ones who don't care about using a fishing license anyways. Just my opinion.

They run your SS# against dead beat father/mother lists...then get this... They keep your SS# in a database.
I wish they would run it and remove it. I would gladly give it every year. I am so tired of everyone wanting info...
It will not be much longer before I am too tired of all the hoops...

ElkRun....you are so right.. But not only do they have us by the nads, but they are getting a pretty firm grip on thier nads as well.
I spoke with some old timers at at lake the other (Sat March 30th) and a couple of them said that was their last day fishing. They did not want to give their SS# and their percieved privacy.
I explained to them that anyone with a bit of knowledge can find out all kinds of info on them, but they didn't believe it. One gentleman understood what I was saying, and commented how the F&G is going downhill, less opportunities, overmanagement / undermanagement, overcrowding, old age, yadda yadda yadda... But it got me thinking about how many others will "retire" from fishing with this new system?
I myself am considering it and I am only 32. The price increases, the cheap out of state costs (ours need to be higher) and all the statements made above by the old timer.
Does my $200.00 a year in fees hurt the F&G? No. But if I "retire" from the outdoors then my wife won't spend $100.00 in fees, our ten year old son probably won't hunt, and our up & coming son will be raised in a non-hunting/fishing household and will probably be Pro-PETA if the schools have their way.
Could this happpen? Hell if I know.. But the old men got me thinkin..

This is just another step in the government's quest to have "taotal and complete knowledge" of every body in the country. There will come a day when we will all be expected to show a bar code that was tattooed on us at birth as identification. This may seem a little far fetched, but look at all the new government controls that have been imposed on us since the birth of the technilogical era. Some food for thought: If you were to give the licenseing dept. somebody else's SS# instead of your own,( Your wife's SS# will work, provided she hasn't already bought a license for herself) you can still get your license and the government won't have a accurate record of who you are. Of course this is illegal, but I just thought I'd throw it out there.
