Howdy Catcher1, Its been slow in the slough. There are a few fish being caught but very few. If your boat gets one take down a day, consider yourself lucky. Water is still very cold. Lots of crabs below the I-5 bridge, bring lots of bait if you want to fish there. The bullheads and chubs aren`t bad yet in the upper slough. The keepers we have caught have been nice fish. Sandshrimp should be your bait of choice. If no action in 30-40 minutes, make your move. Good Fishin` just might see you out there. Bob H.

In the past when fishing for sturgeon and getting killed by the crabs I have had times when all of sudden the crabs are gone.. confused and then sturgeon on... cool
I think the sturgeon eat them or scare them off... eek This has happened to us quite a few times. Has anyone else experienced this?

You might want to try and tip your shrimp offering with some nightcrawlers, a shrimp/crawler cocktail - I know some oldtimers that used to kill them on nightcrawlers only
