I don't care for driftfishing with lines like pwer pro myself due to the abrasion it gets ... but I love it for bobber fishing as you can coat the last 30 feet or so with fly floatant and it fishes like a dream on top of the water.

I run Fireline on all my rods except plug rods! Once you've experienced the no stretch, instant feel its hard to go back. I've also never had any line twist problems at all on my spinning reels. As well Ive never experienced the abrasion problems! Maybe its only a problem with Power Pro! Ive tried Power Pro and wasent as happy with it as I am with Fireline. Bottom line is Ill never switch back to Mono and only like the Fireline! Somtimes with the Fireline you can see the line twitch before you even feel the bite! Its AWESOME!!! The biggest drawback is its noisy going thru the high end spinning eyes as there smaller and seem to be a little noisy.

Do you guys think springers see the braided line while plugging? I really like the braided stuff for the most part but often wonder how much the fish see...using 24# fusion-spiderwire (12# diameter). Is it necessary to use a leader with this line? Happy Angling.

This is the first year I have used the braided lines for salmon. I have one rod with power pro and another with tuff line. Boy are they different. I fish from a boat pulling kwikfish and spinners using 30# leader. So far so good. I like the less resistance the smaller diameter offers. These lines are the best for float fishing. So this is what is feels like to post on the "other" side.

I use power pro(30/6 green) for my float rod, and main line for my drift rod. As long as you keep an eye on it, the abrasion isn't too bad, just trim it, if it looks like it needs it. I have even used power pro(30/6) green for leaders for fall chinook. Fished right along side my friends using mono, and hookups were the same. I use mono leader in ultra clear, but in a pinch have used power pro and it has worked. I like the non stretch of a braid. For jigging kings, and halibut in the salt, braid kicks butt(no pun intended)
