What has been happening with these two areas? Has it really picked up yet?

Keith, I heard it's picked up some. But the mouth of the Wind has always been less productive when the Columbia River is lower. It's lower this year due to the lack of normal rainfall. This not only lowers the water level in the fishing zone, it prevents the more colored 'mix' line water coming further into the zone; so the fish are in shallower clearer water with all those boats bumping around above their heads. The lower water also affects Drano negatively, but not as much. I still expect those areas to have some hot fishing days pretty soon with the sheer numbers of fish available - 42,000 expected up the Wind this year. Look out for 'you know where'.

I fished Drano yesterday. It was pretty much dead all day. We hit the water at 6, saw maybe a fish or two hit a hour until 1 when it turned ON!! Most of the 125 boats were off the water and the majority of the boats left looked like they hit atleast one fish during this 45 minute flury. We hit 3.

...and as fast as it turned on, it died.

We got off the water at 3 and while talking with the checker and cleaning fishing and loading our stuff up he said that again a flury of action was taking place.
