I found a very interesting post by our new member "fishn*gal*for*life" in the 'Fishing Girlfriends become Wives and ..." thread. Go read the perspective of a fishing mom busy with kids. I posted the following reply there and think it deserves it's own thread (topic + replies). My idea:
How about a gal's fishing group that gets a periodic weekend day to fish together while dad stays home with the kids? That's of course if the kids are too young or not interested in fishing yet. Also joined by gals without kids or husbands. Perhaps localized groups would be easier to get together, but I would enjoy seeing some interested women, with kids and/or husband or neither, use this forum to establish women's fishing clubs. Maybe by areas such as Puget Sound Lady Angler's, SW Washington Lady Anglers, or NW Oregon Lady Anglers. You could hire a good joint babysitter or day care entity for those that can't talk dad into staying away from the river on weekends. I think that perhaps some guides or myself would be glad to put on a fishing how-to clinic for a group of women interested in getting started fishing. If there is enough interest posted here I think it could rapidly grow into a nice club endeavor. Guys, tell your wives about this post!
