I have never killed a wild steelhead. Never. I rarely ever kill a hatchery steelhead either. So does that mean I get to talk *&^$?

I'm not going to get to into this but a few of you wanted some data on steelhead harvest. This doesn't specify hatchery or native (from what I can see) but it shows steelhead harvest. Kinda hard to figure out whether the numbers are addative or not but its still interesting to look at. http://www.wa.gov/wdfw/fish/harvest/98-99/99shs-f.htm

FISHINGBRAD, I agree wholeheartedly that rod fishers that bonk nates have little room to criticise Indians who net nates. I would think though that most who do criticise the netting of nates C&R those they catch via rod, and have every right to express their views. I C&R any and all steelhead nates I catch. So I will criticise the fact that OP Indian gillnets reportedly took over 300% of their average catch this year, including nates, because the drought-like conditions enabled much better river coverage by the nets. ...

And Blueback, I'm not up on gillnet models. What mesh size does the imx net have? laugh ... OK, just kidding. If you really have had 50 to 100 fish on/caught days on Cook Creek using a GLoomis IMX with hook and line I am very impressed. Mostly with the Creek though. smile
