We fished below Lower Granite on Tuesday for the opener. From first light until 10am, for roughly twenty boats we saw zero, zip, nada, zilch, nothing. Not a fish hooked or landed. The river was pretty brown, and we didn't mark very many fish. And we looked HARD. Pulled out and ran to the Clearwater in Idaho...yikes. A solid chocolate shake was flowing down the canyon. Half of central Idaho was flowing into the Snake. So what did we do.....drove to Orofino to see if we could get above the mud....yeah, right. So we headed for the barn, and stopped in Clarkston to check for herring and sardines.....nope. However, we did talk to a fish checker that had run the river in a sled from Clarkston down to Lower Granite. He said he checked 22 boats with....no fish. Not one. Got home, stopped at the local tackle shack to see what was up. The cashier claimed a couple of guys in there an hour ahead of us told him of good success below Lower Granite rolleyes . Maybe so, but we didn't see it. So there you have it, a Snake report, and more. Good luck........

confused Also spent Tuesday morning below Lower Granite, you were right B.L., nothing for nobody. We decided that the fish ladder viewing room is nothing more than a circular aquarium. How could that many fish slip by that many fisherman? Did see a guy snag a dead steelhead...quite a battle for a couple seconds. The water is a little better today Talked to the local fish cop and he said at least 20 were caught below Little Goose. Water was quite a few shades better down there Tuesday.
