AK, the Pink Lady divers are intended for saltwater trolling. Up the Kasilof and Kenai Rivers use the Jet Planer divers instgead; for Kwikfish or bait. Use the 20' version for medium depth holes and the 30' on a dropper for the really deep holes. For backtrolling long runs where the depth ranges from 5' to 8' deep, common on the Kenai, you can effectively flatline the Kwikfish K-16's and Flatfish T-50's, which both dive well on their own. ... If you are an experienced backbouncer then using lead is a good way to keep the lure working near bottom; especially very deep holes. A 3-way with a longer 30" lead dropper is to occassionally tap bottom, not rythmically bounce as some do with bait. The longer dropper keeps the K-16's and T-50 rattlers from dredging bottom as much. I suggest using the chrome with chartruse/green accent. And soak your sardine filets in red egg juice from the curing process if you have any. Re-tune them to dive straight if necessary after filet wrapping them. If there is a single hook reg (Bob?) I suggest using a large super sharp siwash extended back from the belly eye with a short bead swivel chain; it will hover nicely in the 'strike zone'. .... When bait is legal, I suggest you try what I like using to backtroll the big colored northern rivers - a Magnum Hot N Tot diver. These will get down 12' to 15' with a large Spin N Glo with large egg cluster; and they make more King attracting noise/vibration to bring them to your eggs in that colored water. Good luck.
