Has anyone used or tried the Abu Garcia Anti Backlash reel, it runs for a little over $100
And looks and sounds like a great reel for pulling plugs casting spinners and drifting bait. Please reply with your opinions.

Catcher - just stick with a 6501C3 if you are in the market for a new abu reel. The anti-backlashes' brakes on short, soft casts mess you up, plus the other horror stories with these line of reels. Keep it simple and you won't add an extra headache.

Yeah, I agree with Yall. They're a big waste of money. If you want an antibacklash ABU, buy any of them and read the owners manual (yes, those papers are for more then firestarting). It'll tell you how to set up your reel for the style of casting you are doing (ie how heavy of weight you're throwing). I finetune my ABU's everytime I use them and only have the occasional backlash when I snag up on a cast or toss the weight off.

The reviews on the outdoor channels of the anti-backlash Ambassadeurs indicate that the feature does not work. Very low marks.

Fellas I really only got the reel because the line release or button is right where your thumb goes and not on the side. It is a little silly but I dont care thanks for replying!
