I was banned twice on ifish without any explantion. I did not flame anyone or use any expletives. Here is what I wrote on a thread titled 6-10-01 "Oh brother it's getting so syrupy in here I could use these posts to pour on my breakfast pancakes. Now that we've had our weekly ifish drama can we get back to fishing? All in favor of ending the "All My Fishing Children" soap opera say aye" sarcastic? I'll agree, but worth getting banned twice? I doubt it.

Your sound like my little 5 year old. Why come crying over here about it we could care less.

You know, For what ever it's worth, I visited ifish for the first time the other day..... It sucks! I'll say it again one more time. It sucks! I wouldn't feel too bad about getting 86'd from that site.... this one is soooo much better, There's a lot more stimulating conversation over here, and yes, sometimes there are some heated arguements on the BB, but that's what keeps it interesting! In fact, some of the guys I've gotten into it with over the last couple of months are now fishing buddies of mine. I too say welcome, and I hope this works out better for you than that piece of crap ifish

I belong to both sites and I must say that both sites a very good ones with lots of great members. They are just different. The ifish BB is held much more closely to the statements of conduct in the registration agreement by the moderators. Here you have more expressive freedom, without it getting out of hand, and I think it works really well for fishermen. I like that here.

It's not like I've ever made a statement that set people off, but they do treat you fairly here. Sometimes it has to get heated so that the "reel" issues can be brought to the surface. Andy

antifish - that's too bad that they banned you for the constructive criticism. Usually they will remove the post, whole thread, or close it. I pretty much got used to it because you can't have an opinion that conflicts with the owner's or her crew's. Since I've posted a ton over there, I've taken it upon myself to free the "sheep" over there who seem to be unable to think or post on their own without having to stroke someone in the "crews' " egos.

And the latest bunch of **** going on over there is this IP tracking crap she's trying to pull. If you remember, her post "Rules and Regulations" got yanked with only 3 replies to it when she said she was going to lookup IP's with her "pet detective" as she sees fit. Then closing out her statement, she said only the troublemakers, etc.

Of course I call BS when I see it, and by the advice of her IP boy, she yanked her thread telling everyone about it because she knows it would piss a bunch of people off that she gets to obtain information on anyone she chooses just because she owns the site. Kinda like big gov't. Of course there's these issues of Right to Privacy and the Riot Act that come to mind. I guess that's why that post mysteriously disappeared.

I then put up a new topic asking why it was deleted and never received a response as to why. I never received an email either. Some guy named George Orwell posted a new topic asking why in the past couple of days. He got the run around by hearing the board policies, etc. but he never got an answer to why dissenting opinions or constructive criticism posts were being removed.

That's exactly how it is over there: "All My Fishing Children". I laughed my ass off when I read your post.

Welcome! Any body that can think for themselves and post their own opinions regardless if they conflict, or gets banned from over there is a friend of mine. Nothing worse than seeing a close-minded, open forum. Thanks to everyone over here who has to do their "thankless" jobs as moderators over here without needing an ego stroked.

Plus, they still cant get over the fact they had a kick butt springer return down there. Get on with the summer folks...

That's too bad Troy, Ifish will lose one of the good ones when you stop posting. Hopefully this is just a phase and things will get back to the "good old days" when Yall was a man and the livestock was scared. Somehow I seriously doubt it though. There seems to be a new guard taking over there. Tis a shame.

Well, Yall, RT, Os, and a few other regulars over there know I used to be a common regular on ifish. I loved the banter we'd have. It all started for me when Os and I had one of our posts deleted on catarafts because Jenny thought it was too "unethical". Someone had said something she didn't like and they dumped whole thread instead of one post. All the guys above have read my firm stance on my feelings on editing (or shall I say downright censorship) on ifish. It's very funny how many people will run to the defense of that board, and blow sunshine you know where. First thing I would hear is "go somewhere else". I rarely, if ever, post over there. I'll do a quick scan of the page and move on. I don't feel it's worth my time. I'm glad of some of the friends I've met over there. I hope most come over here where it's more of a "true" fishing BB. It's friends BS'n, giving out reports, and having a ball. Kind of like Ifish when I first started over there. I also agree with Yall's take that if Os, RT, and some of the others totally dumped that site it would turn.

By the way, who is this FishinMission that's the new moderator? Is that Mark the so called "jig guru"? Whoever this guy is he really needs to get some "release" (can't think of any other term that won't get me banned or slapped ). This guy is way too uptight and must've been a prelaw student in college or a lawyer now. His statements in defense of the "bylaws/regulations" were nothing more then his regards to the rules. Can you say "egotrip"?

Hi Jerry (Steel69). Thanks for your thoughts - which I've always respected. 'Mission's first name is Mark; don't know his last name - he's fairly new to ifish but somehow found himself in the "Mod Squad" in record time. I guess the gig didn't appeal to most of the longtime knowledgable members? I know some of the ones that turned down an offer. Anyway, no that is not the Mark with the jig reputation. The jig expert and jig maker is Mark Anderson (Stlhdr) of www.firstcastjigs.com - as nice a guy as ever came down the pike!

Hopefully the guys who enjoy good banter and debate will make thier way over here. This board is a lot more relaxed and knows how to have a good time. Hopefully ifish will get back to that soon, I like both sites, they both are different. This site is much more loose and enjoyable to read right now.

Have to agree with willierower about Willie, one of his quotes about learning to row was drink a jug of wine and then throw the bottle in the river and follow it down and you will know the route to use This sounds to me like a man who enjoys a good time.

I still like ifish, I've met some great people over there and unless it get's too oppressive I'll stay. The BB shouldn't be about any one person it's everyone getting together and having fun talking about fishing,beer and naked women right? or in RT's case.....well you know what I mean.
