I am looking for a river report on the Vedder.
I hear that the white kings are in and that they are coming strong.
I was also wondering if they are being caught, on what and where at.

Catcher1,
The Springs that arrive in July on the Vedder are in fact Red Springs, not the white fleshed fish of October. The run size is approx. 1/20 of the fall run... 4000 summer fish is an average year. For more info on Vedder run timings, tactics, and locations, check out CoastAngler.com and click on the link to the Vedder .

Do the pinks overlap the sockeye? I'm looking to make a trip in either early or mid august. Will the Pinks be in by then? If they open the fraser I know the sockeye will be there then. I'd love to try and catch some pinks with the 6wt though. By the time I make the trip in October I'm sure they'll be pretty disgusting.

Ramstrong,
Late August and early September see the pinks and sox overlap. As well, there are a lot of Springs in the Fraser. By OCtober there is no sockeye or pinks to be had. I would suggest you make your trip in early August as the Fraser will be closed in Late August to protect the early running Thompson Coho.
