Well it's like this; Either I am a really big idiot for putting up with this obsession to fish, or I am just a really good wife! Of course, I would like to think that I am not an idiot! (good wifey huh LittleZoZo?) Would the Little Girl you were be proud of the Woman you are? Hee Hee

Thankx Jerry, I try. Sometimes humor is all a wife of a fisherman has to hold onto. :p Although, I can be quite serious when a "couple hours" turns into a whole day on the river. Do ALL of you do that too? How about this one: "Hey honey, sorry I am so late, I wasn't driving. I tried to tell him I needed to be home, but he wanted to catch his limit." or "Hi babe, sorry so late, it was the best day fishing I have EVER had, I was just railing them. You couldn't expect me to leave?" How about this one, (it is my personal favorite) "I only plan on fishing this run a few times, I am going to wait until the springers are in." (You can replace the word springers with whatever run is next)All sound familiar? They do to me. Gotta love him though, he is just too cute!!!

Awhile back my wife read some book that she had checked out at the library which had a passage in it about how fishing can be a form of religion for people. The authors thoughts were that at the core of religion is the need to meditate and spiritually regroup, which happens to many anglers while they are fishing. Once she read that I played the whole thing to my advantage. If she wants to take the kids to church on Sunday mornings then I should be able to fish on Saturday mornings. The problem is that my "love offerings" to the fish tend to be more (gas, tackle, bait) than the ones that she puts in the passed plate. [ 07-27-2001: Message edited by: Heywood Jablomie ]
