Last report I had on the Skok was that it still had some good Kings. No idea what shape they're in and the report is nearly a week old. The Quil produced scattered mixed dark/bright fish throughout the day today down low. Wouldn't fish up high unless you like packin out catfood eek . Also be prepared for pound dog city eek . And there's thousands still out in the salt waitin to come in! Black yarn slays the silvers.

Ironfisherman--I was on the Skokomish on Sunday. Hooked seven kings and landed four. Most of the biters were on straight eggs--fish seemed to go on & off the bite related to the number of fisherman wading & pounding the water. I had three hookups when there were only two of us fishing the hole, but was blanked when the snaggers showed up in force. These fish will bit--but not if people stand on top of them and "whiff" every three seconds. The water was low and clear so stealth is important. The tribal netters were courtious and did not net the holes we were fishing. I saw one silver caught, and I landed one very bright buck about 10 pounds early--(the only bright fish I landed) and released him because I didn't want to stop fishing. Good luck if you go to the Skok. JT

I'd think twice about the Quilcene until we get some rain. Likely you'll leave there like I did last weekend....disgusted. I can't tell you how many people I saw with a rig that had a large hook tied about 6 inches ABOVE a big sinker. No corkie, no yarn, just a snagger outfit. They are scum.

I even saw one guy "herding" a bright silver up river to his buddies, shouting "I got a silver coming up..."

Enforcement is pitifully non-existent here, so be prepared to see the worst of mankind if you go....
