Has anyone fished near the Grand Ronde river for Steelhead? Looks like 10,000 fish per day and more going over Lower Granite Dam.

Will be fishing below the dam this week.

Looking at the water flows I would say there are not many fish up in the Ronde, yet. However, I have heard of fish being picked up at Hellar Bar at the mouth. It will do nothing but get better everyday from here on out. Keep an eye on the flows of the river. The first good wave of water will bring fish up into the river. Good luck....

I grew up on the Ronde as a kid, now living the Army life out of Fort Lewis. I was just up there this weekend, hunting, got a little 2 point mulie and a mess of grouse. The water at Troy all the way to the Oasis is really low and clear, didn't fish it, too many deer and grouse around. I did hear a few steelies getting picked up, a few days of rain there and you could trip and fall into the river and come up with a few fish, it looks THAT good. Keep me posted if you go...
