You guys somtimes I wonder.

You could pick up some pidgen feathers wrap them on a regular hook with dental floss, sprey paint it pink, tie it on, put a split shot near the hook and fish it under a float and it will catch steelies just as good as any dam jig made.

Most important thing is to get it infront of them, Im a firm believer that steelies will bite almost anything if you get it in the right place.

Look at the Pink worm for god sakes, it goes agianst everything, accept its a good steelhead color.

I agree with Rich to a point.....right shape, right place = fish on. BUT, I do like tying my own jigs, and have caught alot of steelies on them, but never really got the hang of palmering maraboo. Is it palmered while still on the feather? or stripped off the feather and put in a dropper loop and palmered that way? I see some experimentation ahead this winter.
