Side slider, Where were you fishing and what was the guys name, or what did he look like? Our cure isn't out on the market yet, and not many people have there hands on it. If we could just get the labels done then it will be ready to hit the market and available for everyone. Sounds like it might have made a believer out of ya... Keith

Stlhdr1 - Sorry to hear about your trouble getting your product out because of labeling difficulties. For what it's worth, Amerman's Egg Cure doesn't have much of a label. It's just his name, address, phone number, and some basic directions on how to use the cure. That's it. It's possible that labeling for in-store sales is different than direct marketing or that Oregon has fewer labeling restrictions than Washington on products that are not meant for human consumption.
Whatever the problem, I hope your cure is out soon. The opening post on this thread is certainly eye opening. Provided it wasn't just a marketing ploy.....

Keith, Let me guess, you just found your new first marketing agent. Seriously though, when you say labeling is the only thing holding you back from getting your product out on the market are you talking someone to do the labeling or thinking up a label or what? Get that stuff out here boy so`s we can try some.. I`m willing to give it a shot. Sheez, I`ve tried most everything else..

I'm on board with that was well. A label isn't going to make it any better. Let's see what you guys have.

I remember reading that steelheader1 will be out of town, blackpowder hunting, so you might want to give him a few days to respond.

Keith is correct, we haven't found a label yet. Getting a label is not the problem, but I'm not satisfied with the price per label to this point. However, this isn't exactly the entire story as to why the egg cure isn't on the market yet. Not having enough time being the biggest factor, work has kept us both pretty busy, along with a few other reasons. Heck, I've had a hard enough time keeping Keith and myself stocked up during "egg season".
As far as price goes, it'll be $6.00 per bottle (10 oz. net weight). The bottle is the same exact size that is used by Pro-Glo. I have no trouble selling it without the label. However, I will not be receiving the shipment of dye until sometime next week. Till then, my hands are tied.
Regarding the post made by Side Slider... I'm not quite sure what to think there, to be honest. I've given a number of friends cure this fall to use, along with eggs cured in Ultimate Egg Cure to certain individuals. Is it possible that Side Slider was fishing next to me, or someone else who had eggs cured in UEC?? Yes. Is this indeed the case?? Beats me. I'd really like to find out where, and for what he was fishing for so I could find out. Believe me, I want to know more than anyone. If the guy had an email address I'd ask him myself. However, the fact that he doesn't, makes me wonder. As far as a marketing ploy.. Let's just say I have better things to do than false advertise on an internet bulletin board. So Side Slider, if your out there bro, let's hear it. Anyone have any other questions, feel free to ask. Thanks.
James

Yo Raincity,
Once I get the dye, and eveything else a little more dialed, I'll ask eveyone who wants UEC and how much. Upon taking orders, I'll let provide an address where you can send the cash.
I do have a question for all of you however. Anyone out there know what's the best shipping serivce? UPS, Fed Ex, etc.??? After all, he/she who orders cure, will have to pay for shipping, so I thought suggestions from you guys was in order.
For those of you who live a considerable distance from SW Washington that do frequently come down to fish the Kalama, can avoiding shipping fees by meeting me somewhere along the river or in the town of Kalama. I'm currently building a few homes (one the Kalama river itself) in the Kalama area. We'd just have to schedule ahead of time where to meet. Let me know gentlemen.
Stormin N?? Hey, you there man?? I need to give you your 5 free bottles for winning the contest. Plus, I would like to ask you for some suggestions with the labels. Thanks..
James

Question: Your 10 oz bottle will cure approximately how many pounds of eggs? Also, I wholeheartedly agree with the suggestion to use USPS Priority Mail. UPS breaks sh!t on purpose and FedEx is expensive. If you go to the USPS website you can order supplies like shipping boxes, Priority Mail stickers, and Priority Mail packing tape for FREE! Nice deal there. Just pack that stuff TIGHT. Also, you might want to check Whacky Willy's in NW Portland's industrial area for plastic/glass containers for your cure. Might be a temporary source, but I recall them having a bunch of them for cheap awhile back. Plus it's just a trippy place to walk around in, as they have all kinds of interesting things in there, from electrical parts to old computers to spray paint to...?

I personally have nothad bad experience with FedEx except that they have limited days of shipping and are expeeeeeen$ive. UPS has a good record and is more resonably priced but from an inside person, shipping with them is not what it appears to be. When they 'scan' a 'package' to track it they really are scanning the cargo hold of whatever they are shipping in ... i.e. the trailer or plane #. What this means is that not until they have unloaded all of the packages, sorted and catalogued will they know if your package is even there! If it aint there...they have really lost it. FedEx and USPS both use individual scanning numbers for all the packages...this means better tracking. More expensive for a private company (FedEx) than for Uncle Sam. I would use USPS. Also, by using our friendly mannered postal employees, you will help to keep our mail delivery at 6 days a week. (They recently were debating going to drop Saturday delivery and maybe go to every other day delivery to cut back because of drop in general mail sent. This was from next door neighbor who is postal employee.) Also, I am definitely interested in Beta testing some of your cure. Can't wait until it is available. Maybe a discount rate for those that are 'active' on this BB? . I am sure will be worth the wait and the cost.

How about this:
First person to spot a correctly spelled word in one of RT's posts gets a free bottle. (J/K RT - you know I appreciate your help).

OR here's an even better idea. First person to post a picture of RT and an emu together wins. No digitally enhanced photos either. i.e.-finding pic of RT and pic of lone emu and pasting them next to each other. None of that. BTW, I'd take some of that cure too...if I had some eggs to cure up that is. Might get some yet. Ya never know.

Sure wish I could get ahold of this wonder product soon. I am going over to the Sacramento soon for some winter run salmon. Would love to try it out there. Been waiting all fall for this stuff to be available. May have to wait till next year.
If the stuff is as good as they are telling us I can see it getting banned in 10 western states. Might be right up there with using dynamite.
Hurry up guys we want it. NOW

Well I just got back from the week's hunting trip and it wasn't as good as last year. We filled 4 of 7 deer tags, and I got NOTHING , for the second year in a row. I had my chances though. After reading this you'd think you all were a bunch of kids counting down on christmas But it looks like james has got in there with some answers, and I'm still laughing at the white powder remark, and being sold in safeway in the borax box, that was a good one. Sideslider, had emailed me when I was on vacation and he lives in whitesalmon/Klickitat. In which I was up there fishing with a buddy of mine. If it is really you sideslider, you'd had seen me under fisher hill bridge or the upper river near the Klickitat's upper boat ramp and if it was there you were sitting in a lawn chair and I had given you some eggs to try... Was that you?? Anyhow, when the dye shows we'll put a big batch together and get to doing this!! Keith

I sure like fp's comments about the free advertising---especially the free drift boat part OK, so how about if we downsize to a free Loomis stick?? Had to ask. The silver run is petering out; could have used the high speed stuff last month for all the eggs I have sitting in the freezer on borax. Let us know.

Hey Dave. A 10 oz bottle should cure approx 15 lbs of eggs. But it all depends on how you go about curing your eggs, everyone is different in their ways. Some methods use more/less cure vs. others. For example: Pro-Glo uses the same 10 oz bottle as we do; Beau Mac claims it cures approx 15 lbs of eggs. However, depending on which method I use at the particular time or if I'm adding other chems, one bottle might only cure 10-12 lbs, or it might cure more. One bottle of UEC should cure around 15 lbs as mentioned. fp... If you don't want bottles, no problem. But the price will still be $6.00 per 10 oz. net weight. Plus, using the cure in the bottles makes application much easier. But it's up to you. Oh, and fp, you make us a million a year selling cure and well, a drift boat just might be in order. James

I was fishing underneath the bridge on the other side of the river. I watched as you guys hooked plenty of fish in the lip. the next day I was back on on the side that you were on and talked to the fella that you gave some eggs to from Yakima he said that when he switched to your eggs he immediatly hooked up and hooked three fish. I figured that it had to be you when I read the post regarding your trip out here to go hunting your timing was perfect to run into those bright little buggers.

Yes, I remember, that was actually the first time I fished under fisher hill bridge on the klickitat. I'll tell ya, your all crazy monkeying around and fishing off that cliff like a bunch of mountain goats. That was some crazy stuff, you'd hook a fish and downriver he'd go and once he was out the tailout it was all over. I wasn't matched up well for that game though, I only had 15lb test, and that's a bit shy when you have to chase them downriver and scale the side of that cliff, one wrong move and you fall 20 feet right into some raging crap. How many people have died up there anyway. I certainly don't recommend it to anyone who is scared of heights. Keith

I know that they have lost a few of the Native dipnetters but I have never heard of any fishermen falling into that frothy mess. I like to use cable when fishing there it is alot easier to hold the fish in the pool that you are in.

Bob, You said "if it's good". Remember, eggs are our lives and it's all we've done over the past 10 years. If you'd like a product presentation let us know, like mentioned earlier in the thread "seeing is beleiving".. Whether you were to come here or us going there, it wouldn't matter. Or when it's ready we'll send you some and work something out. We'd love to have you using it and some advertising space! Let us know... Keith
