Found at Schucks Auto Parts for $3.99. About 12"inches long. Would work well for use in a boat.
What do you guys think?

I drop pliers in the water all the time. So the price fits. I think from now on I need to put surgical tubing around my wrist, like a safty leash.

BK,

There's an easier way than pliers. When I did Kodiak they keyed me onto a hook release tool. If you use barbless its very fast and easy and causes no damage to the fish. You put it on your line , follow it down to the hook than pull oposite of the way the hook is in with the tool and push the line away. then the hook just pops right out. Makes it easy to release fish right out in the main current. Some even have a floating handle so if it goes in it dosent sink. I know Jim Tenny sells them out of his catalog. But If you take a look at it you can make your own if you find the right kind of wire.

Nah, for a boat, the size is ok, but I'd still want a pair with cutters on them. I use pliers for more than just removing hooks.

They don't look like they'd grip a hook very well. The lower part looks like it might be intrusive while trying to pinch something. I don't know what I'm saying. Well, do they work?
