Haven't floated these in years, but some newbies have requested trips down these rivers this week. The Nooch for the scenery and fish; the Satsop for a hooknose or two. Which drifts on these rivers are preferable or open these days? On the Nooch I use to like the one going down to Black Cr., but I can't quite remember the put-in for a full days drift. Any suggestions? The Satsop always seemed ideal for a sled working out of Hwy 12 put-in, but I'm going to have to drift it. The drift from Schafer seemed pretty long down to Hwy 12 and I can't remember if you can take out at West fork confluence. The WF to Hwy 12 seemed a little short. Any suggestions? Also, I remember the Satsop could have some nasty sweepers at times, Anything I should be aware of. Thanks in advance for your inside info. Hoping the weather holds. I know these streams go out with a sneeze.

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

I would scratch the Nooch off my list for a while.....still very high and dirty. Word is there was a good sized slide just below the Wishkah bridge that's coloring up the lower river.

The Satsop is looking pretty good as of this AM. A good drift would be from the donation bar (just above Cook Creek) down to Hwy 12. The Hwy 12 ramp looked to be a mess with mud all over the lot and ramp. Still some chrome silvers wandering around in there.

Good luck!
